On November 5, 2009 their sixth studio album, Liebe ist für alle da was placed on the Index of the Bundesprüfstelle für jugendgefährdende Medien or BPjM (Federal Department for Media Harmful to Young Persons), making it illegal in Germany to make the album accessible to minors or display it where it can be seen by people underage, effectively banning it from stores.[46][47] According to the official statement of the BPjM, the depiction of lead guitarist Richard Kruspe holding a chubby woman wearing only a mask over his knee and lifting his hand to strike her behind has given cause for offense, as well as the lyrics to "Ich tu dir weh" which supposedly assist to spread dangerous BDSM techniques. Furthermore, the advisory board has taken into consideration the alleged promotion of unprotected sexual intercourse in the lyrics to "Pussy". The band, as well as several members of the German press, reacted with astonishment to the decision. Keyboarder Christian Lorenz expressed surprise at the advisory board's "parochial sense of art" and regretted their apparent inability to detect irony.[48][49] On November 16, 2009 a stripped down version of Liebe ist für alle da was released. As of May 31, 2010, the administrative court in Cologne has decided to waive the suspensive effect of censorship (case 22 L 1899/09). The German department deleted the record from the censorship lists on June 1 (Decision No. A 117/10).[23] On June 9, the band announced in their official website that the original version of the album was already available at their shop and that a release of the single Ich tu dir weh in Germany was planned in a short period of time.

I think you have to really have a certain receptive mood to their stuff unless you want the songs to sort of meld into repetition. Structurally they are very similar, but when it clicks, my god. And if it's live, well, I could listen to everything.

I love them, but I have to take breaks from them because it's hardly complex stuff and gets old fast. Fridge, I might regret saying this, but you should really check Laibach out.

I've got Laibach's "Volk" album waiting to be listened to properly- I've only skimmed it so far, but it sounds great. Requires more attention. Btw, non-German speakers, if you haven't done so already, be sure to check out the translation and the story behind the Rammstein lyrics.

I'm a fan. Hadn't listened to them in a looooong time and Mein Teil came up on shuffle the other day, and I was just like "fuck yeah"...gotta be one of the best songs built on a riff as simple as that. They're not a band that I can listen to a whole album of, but they do know how to pen a damn good metal song here and there.

I was a huge fan a couple of years ago but have lost interest, I find everything they've released since Mutter (2001) boring. They're still a riot live though. Lindemann is an amazing frontman.

A fan... since I saw them in a small (500 people) venue in the Sehnsucht tour, before Lost Highway soundtrack and fame. Christian Lorenz surf over me & my friends in his plastic boat while the band played Seeman.

I got tickets from my work to their show last night and it was simply amazing. Even though I had only heard like five songs by them beforehand I still had a blast. So. Much. Fire. Seriously, I'm up on the second level and I can feel the heat. I can't even imagine how hot they must be. The fact that they do this night after night is astonishing.

I used to be a huge fan like... Shit... 11 years ago? Maybe longer. I still follow them but I admit after Rosenrot I have paid very little attention to them. I got the new album but it didn't really capture me like most of their previous works have. Good band. FrigidSymphony wrote: Huh. Probably don't like American audiences. My favorite band overall. Been a fan for 6 years and when i saw them live @ Madison square garden it was quite possible the best night ever and best show ive been to.

They are still very good at what they do, but I think I have out grown them a bit. I used to be in love with Mutter, and I can still listen to all of their albums, but my time is generally spent elswhere. Still need to catch a concert someday.
