I'm planning on buying Losing Streak later this month (any album with a song called "Johnny Quest Thinks We're Sellouts" is a must-buy IMO). What are your thoughts on this popular ska-punk band? How do they compare to a band like Goldfinger (who's really more ska than punk) or The Suicide Machines (who's more punk than ska)?

idk, never heard, but as far as I'm concerned, the only necessary Ska band is Streetlight Manifesto.

They're from Omaha and one of the band members was a US history sub for one of my high school teachers.

I liked them when I was younger and still own Losing Streak, haven't listened to it in years though, but I do remember liking it.

Starting with Hello Rockview they began pulling in more pop punk. Still really good, but the first two albums and the EPs and stuff (get Losers, Kings, and Things We Don't Understand for all that) have a different feel, which I prefer. More hardcore, more ska, less pop punk.

They covered Slayer, too:

Hell, most of their covers do. Get the Greased EP, too, where they cover Grease songs. It's awesome!
