Post subject:  Best Neurosis Album?

So I've been on a Neurosis binge as of late and I started wondering which album would be considered their best. Personally its so hard to choose as my favorite is always changing, but lately I've been digging the hell out of Times of Grace.

Agreed but if you HAD to choose which would it be?

Enemy of the sun, without a doubt, one of the best metal albums I've ever heard. "Through silver in blood" was very dark and ethereal as well, however, it just lacked that arrid and solitary feeling of Enemy of the sun. Neurosis are truly one of the most innovative bands metal has ever seen.

'Through Silver in Blood' for the really bad moods.
'Enemy of the Sun' for the heaviest riffs.
'Times of Grace' for being accessible and crushing.
I like the newer ones a lot too though.

idk. The Eye of Every Storm comes to mind first, I think because it's pretty different from the others.

I suppose it is. But then isn't 'A Sun that Never Sets' as well?

I guess it's more like the peak of a gradual progression before they went slightly back to being more badass again.

I see what you are saying. Back to the original question, I've listened many times to all their albums from 'Souls at Zero' to 'Given to the Rising' and I'd say they all vary within between 84-89 on the 100 point scale, so they are models of consistency.

I guess, gun to my head, I'd go with 'Through Silver in Blood'.
