So, which of these do you prefer? Or are you incredibly cult and hardcore and think both are the worst thing to happen in the history of music.

I'd rather listen to Slipknot. Disturbed has some good moments, just seems to get old pretty quick.

I generally loathe everything Disturbed has ever done but I enjoyed 3 songs off their last album. Not to mention, their subject matter is 20x better than the pussyfest which is Slipknot's 'my daddy hates me i hate this world' bullshit. Plus Draiman once stopped a show because a girl was getting grope-raped as she was crowd surfing so props for human decency.

Tough choice. I did enjoy the last couple of Disturbed albums, but up until their last crapfest Slipknot did make more of an effort to mix the songwriting up. I'll flip a coin later.

I remember thinking there were some great songs on the self-titled SLipknot album... Spit it Out, Eyeless, etc... So Slipknot. Haven't listened to it in yonks, though.

Corey Taylor has never even met his father so I don't understand where you are getting that impression from.

I make a quasi-reference to Big Daddy and you get all defensive of shitty Slipknot. It doesn't matter what one member's relation to his father his in reference to what I said unless he is the only one who ever writes their songs, in which case what is the point of 9 people. Despite their personal relation to their dad, all their fans I've ever known have a 'i hate my parents and the world since it doesn't understand me' attitude. God, this is going to turn into a shitfest.

Slipknot, because the self-titled album is great, and is very energetic. Iowa is cool too.

Disturbed... Meh. I could do without them.

Iowa was one of the first metal/rock albums I got into back in the 8th grade. Iowa is also their only worthwhile album.

disturbed is just annoying.

I would never listen to either band today though.

This is like being forced to choose between choking on poop and choking on vomit as capital punishment for a crime you didn't commit.

I guess Slipknot. Their vocalist is far more talented than the Disturbed dude, and Iowa wasn't that bad.

"All their fans"

That's about as ignorant as the 80's attitude that anyone that liked metal was dumb.

People don't like crass overgenerlizations.

I own Disturbed's Indestructible album and I like it more than anything from Slipknot that I've listened to. So, Disturbed for me.

Actually, he said "All their fans I've ever known", so I don't see how he's making a crass overgeneralization.

As for the topic question, I could probably make a more enjoyable compilation out of Slipknot's career than Disturbed's...for now.

Slipknot's last album sucked BAD, especially disappointing following Vol. 3 which I liked. Disturbed last two albums have been pretty good, a couple more and they'll be the better choice for me.

I think Slipknot is pretty awful. My friend used to love Iowa and their debut, and I hated those with a passion. I've heard very little Disturbed but it seems to me they're less awful. I'd rather not lose my hearing so I'll cast my vote on them.

You clearly have not heard Coal Chamber, if you think Slipknot suck; listen to "Loco".

Disturbed has at least stepped up their game and not in a way that's horrible like Slipknot. I'd rather listen to Disturbed any day of the week, as long as it's one of the last 2 albums.
