I know most metalheads loathe deathcore/metalcore, but I just wanted to post a link and ask if there were other people here who have heard their latest offering Malice. Its worth checking out as they as they have stripped down their music to a more death metal feel.

Ew. It's really bad when you name your band after a CC song.

They alright, nothing overly different from the rest of the deathcore pack, but they're good at what they do.

whitechapel is decent. That's the only positive opinion I have on this genre.

deathcore is sooooo boring...

I've heard them more than I would care to. I was in a band for a brief period of time where the guitarist loved Whitechapel and other lame Deathcore bands and he would always play them on the stereo system and talk about how much he loved them.

Chugga chugga makes %98 of this genre. Whitechapel is the only one I've heard that tries to make meaningful songs.

Meaningful how? If Whitechapel was playing alongside any other given Deathcore band, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Info on which album to listen to?

The Somatic defilement is much more varied in lots of ways, its the prototypical 'chugga,chugga' but has slightly more variation. If you just wanted to get pissed off then listen to This is Exile. Its heavier but if your an elitist avoid or you'll die of a heart attack.

I speak from the ears of a non-musician because stylistically I don't believe brutal death metal and deathcore to be all that different.
Save the hardcore influence, and the ideological gaps (if any) between both genres.

I like Despised Icon.

I can tolerate Abigail Williams and Winds of Plague to a lesser extent.

Did you guys foresee in any extent the explosion of deathcore?

This band is alright. I find myself nodding along to bits of Malice. I'm sorry if that injures credibility. I still don't like generic breakdowns, if that helps. So sections of their songs don't do it for me. But I'm all about casting aside my need for redemption and renewing my faith in rage.

These guys are alright. I find them more enjoyable than a lot of deathcore bands, and I do listen to the genre. I thought Bloodlust was a better album than Malice, and I have a feeling that their next album will be the one that puts me into " Don't care mode " with these guys.
