Psyopus is really fucking good. I thought my computer was breaking the first time I heard Insects. :dio:

Also, it looks like they're touring with a band from Tampa called Gigan who're also pretty good. http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... D=81920861

Haha! They're coming to Omaha in Jan. This would be a pretty hilarious show.

I liked the first one better though, the last one was just way too fucked up.

i think it just leaked yesterday. so far i've listened to it twice and quite like it. i didn't like the spoken parts of "Boogeyman" and "Choker Chain" the first time, but after listening to it again they're already growing on me.

Too much sampling/alternating voices.

Is that only in the bonus track or am I missing something?

it's at the start of the bonus track :P

not sure what to think about their new bassist. i like how he actually makes himself noticed, while there old ones were just kinda not there, and he does some very cool stuff like chords etc, but his tone seems a little too round and pleasant for PsyOpus's sound.

I don't really care about one particulart song offered to sway my opinion.
Their style is extremely pretentious.

it applies to all their other songs except one or two, that's just the one that stood out to me on the new album. so hush.

Not to drag a non-argument on but I'm not referring to their new album I'm talking about the entirety of their style.

As perceived by you, of course.

Listening now. This is the first time I've heard Psyopus. I'm liking the more death/grind nature of it, as most other math stuff I listen to is more rooted into hardcore or other metal forms (like DEP, FOT and PTH).

I didn't mind the voices in Boogeyman but holy shit was it annoying in Choker Chain. A Murder to Child is the only instance of directionless n00dling, and actually gets pretty boring pretty quickly.

That being said, all other tracks were great. The Burning Halo being my favourite.

one way ticket to hell!
