haha. there's less clean singing on this one than the last actually :O if you're american you can get the album for free off of Amazon.com. The retail version of the album has *much* better sound quality than the leak I had. I bought it off iTunes and got instrumental versions of all the songs

Well if you loved that album as much as I did, and you need a new fix of some avant garde, over the top, progessive, metalcore - look no further than Protest The Hero's new CD "Fortress"... Wow...this is some amazing stuff!! Totally amazing playing by the band and while it has the usual metalcore screaming, the vocals are also very melodic as well...(wow, what a concept!) Fans of BTBAM, Dillinger Escape Plan, Watchtower/Spastic Ink/Blotted Science (and some DT thrown in for good measure) - RUN to get this album immediately!!! You're in for a TREAT!!! Only a month into the new year and this one's a shoe-in for one of my top CD's of 2008! MP also apparently the 'for free on amazon' thing was a mistake ^^ |

Anyone who likes progressive music should give this a try. Oh one quick question, how are Rody's vocals anywhere close to emo !? Yeah emo vocals are pretty close to that, although I'd say he sounds less emo-ish on this album than on the last one. |

i was about to open a thread about the new PTH, but i saw this 
i liked Kezia, but more for parts of songs than songs as a whole (first 2 minuts of Blindfolds Aside = complete pwnage), but this album seems much stronger throughout. i'm on my second listen, and i'm sure it's only one of many as i try to, hm, digest this album. the cool thing about PTH, imo, is that they need several listens to "get", but even on the first listen it's easy to find something to like. |

I got this yesterday and I'm really liking it. It's definitely metalcore-ish, but still enjoyable with all the progressive parts. Rody is a great vocalist IMO...as long as you ignore all of his homosexual mannerisms in the Bloodmeat video. I love the guitar solos, especially how they use them in big crescendos like at the end of Sequoia Throne. Which, by the way, is a fucking awesome song...definitely check it out on their MySpace. |
