On the PT front, amazon wouldn't let me cancel the order. Apprently it's all boxed for dispatch and that. Considering amazon stop processing at 6 and I ordered at 4:30, it's worrying that employees have nothing better to do than to pounce on an order as soon as it comes in. I'm taking this as a sign that the album will be some kind of life-changing experience, and make me a better person.

Heh, bad luck. If it's that bad I'll buy it from you for a reasonable price, how much did you pay for it?

6.98 with postage and packing. It's a prezzie from my mum for getting good marks in my exams, so she wouldn't be best pleased with me selling it to some Northener I met over t'internet.

Ministry -- The Mind Is A Terrible Thing To Taste

I didn't really even have a choice 'cuz my brother rushed me out of the store before I could look at anything else.

Great album though. Thieves! Liars!

Yeah it is. It was a great impulse buy; my first Ministry album. :dio:

And I just ordered: A Perfect Circle -- Thirteenth Step

Heh. A northener with a posh accent, don't forget! I'd probably cut my losses and just keep it, out-there albums tend to be growers. You'll discover it again in ten years' time and it'll be the greatest thing you've ever heard.

And I rediscovered Mer De Noms the other day. Love that band.

Great album. 7 of the songs are flawless.

On the PT front, it wasn't that bad actually, good ambient stuff. Probably sounds amazing when you're stoned off your face but then again, so does UB40.

I've always wondered about people who are like "omg you gotta be stoned then its amaaaaaazing"... anything is awesome when you're stoned :lame:

Fear Factory - Archetype
(my god. Burton C. Bell IS Tim Robbins! )

Cypress Hill - III: Temples Of Boom
Pantera - (the one with a blue cover and a skull being drilled, forgotten the name)
Sex Pistols - Never Mind The Bollocks

Realised I never actually owned a copy of the latter. Tut. The Pantera was an impulse buy, since I never really pursued them after Cowboys... Cypress Hill are awesome, as ever.

Ah you bought Far Beyond Driven. First Pantera album I bought. Never cared for it too much to be honest, too much filler.

Speaking of Burton C. Bell, have you seen the version of Cemetery Gates he did with Dream Theater and Russel Allen. Russel sings the heavy stuff on the first verse really well, and then Burton does it on the second verse and does some horrible impersonation of Phil which sounds retarded. I'll post a link to the video later.

I haven't, sounds interesting. He's never been a great vocalist, but his voice really fits that slightly cheesey cyber thing FF have.

More purchases:

Black Uhuru - Red
Augustus Pablo - Jah Inspiration
Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band - Keynsham
Aaron Dilloway - Boggs Vol 2

Reggae ftw. And with bonkers 60s psychedelia and noise, you can't go wrong.

Mercury Rev - All Is Dream
The Herbaliser - Mercenery
AStral Projection - The Astral Files
Soft Machine - Third
Primus - Pork Soda
Primus - Tales From The Punchbowl
Primus - Rhinoplasty
and an Earache tribute to Black Sabbath. Which should be in Doom...

just ordered:

Vaughan Williams: Symphony No.2 (Telarc) - already have one copy of it, however, there's some problems with the sound on it. Dunno why - looks un-scratched to me.

Vaughan Williams: Symphony No. 5 (Telarc)
Joseph Haydn: The 12 London Symphonies (DG)
John Luther Adams: In the White Silence - this will be interesting, it's kinda classical winter ambient music from what i've heard.

Looooads. They're starting to pile up; am going to have to invest in one of those floor-to-wall storage things.

Hopefully this coming month I'll slow the buying right down and listen to the ones I've missed so far. Might even manage to review some...

I tend to walk to places rather than go by bus or car, so there's always time here and there. I just take them one by one, really...

I always listen to black metal when I'm walking. Makes me go faster.

I have no idea why, but those two sentences really make me want to listen to Darkthrone.
