Solid album, listened a few times at work and deleted it. Very formulaic, though. Screamo verse, cleanly sung chorus. At least with Jesse in the band they didn't strictly follow this formula. Either way, it sounded solid, but for me the release date is like a year away!

I'm done with buying Roadrunner releases when they come out. I'd like to throttle the prick who came up with the reissue idea. I won't buy the new Trivium album until the reissue, I have yet to buy the new BLS album (one of my favorite bands), I won't buy the Killswitch album, and so on. It truly annoys me! Fuckers.

And the vocals are processed like a muthafucka!

True it is good but like Ken says a little too 'slickly' produced. :)

So I'm listening to "As Daylight Dies," and I like it. I like it a lot. :omfg: This is the first Killswitch Engage album I've ever heard.

And it's their worst. Buy Alive Or Just Breathing. That's prime KsE.

Jesse, the old singer, is also far better than Jones. Check out these old videos:

MY LAST SERENADE
LIFE TO LIFELESS (my favorite KsE song!)

Jesse has a natural tone, while Jones' vocals are heavily processed. I also think that the music was more original—relatively speaking—back before Jones joined the band and metalcore became the mainstream radio special of the week. The latest Killswitch material has stuff on it that could have been written by Lostprophets!

If you're interested, Jesse's new band, Seemless, kick tons of ass. More like hardcore stoner rock, though.

SEEMLESS - LAY MY BURDEN DOWN
SEEMLESS - THE WANDERER
SEEMLESS - CAST NO SHADOW

Ken just hates the new guy because he stole the job from him.

Sorry for the late response.

I agree with you though. As far as metalcore goes, All That Remains is as good as it gets. Mind you, that's still not great. I enjoyed their last two albums about equally. One dimensional and uninventive, but enjoyable nonetheless.

That about sums it up for me as well. They opened for GWAR and I found them to be a resounding meh. It's not bad really, but the genre as a whole is so ho-hum boring. I can generally spot the breakdowns coming form a mile away. I can't understand how someone would want to listen to that stuff all of the time.
