No way, Frances actually shows them fully embracing their insane noisy/free jazz jams and incorporating them into the songs rather only than being interludes between songs or a break.

Anyways does anyone know if Amputechture will be an actual album? I mean since its coming out just a year after Frances it might just be like improv crap or something >_<

I think i've come to the conclusion that the climax to Miranda, That Ghost Just Isn't Holy Anymore is the most powerful musical moment I have ever heard.

It is powerful. It is really the climax of the entire piece of music that spans the end of L'Via into that track. I dig it a lot.

Yeah, L'Via is also a great song, the distorted vocals for the last latin jazzish parts creep me the fuck out so much.

Also the switches from super abrasive/energetic to laid back sections reminds me of something robert fripp talked about, where the music contrasts familiar styles in drastic ways to have a weird psychological effect on the listener.

Has anyone listened to Frances the Mute with the title track at the front? I'm surprised the album can keep my complete attention for like 90 minutes.

It is on a free, two-track demo that you might find in a place like Best Buy, that is where I found it. On it is Frances The Mute and a live recorded version of The Widow. The demo comes in a slip cover with a gramophone(I think) on the front.

I enjoy TMV quite a bit. Haven't listened to them in a while but I prefer De-loused.

My apologies for enjoying them, and how did they get brought up?

ATDI are indeed some of the most energetic bastards I've ever seen/heard.

Well, your quote didn't directly bring them up, but since they are the "other" band containing remnants of ATDI, its not totally out of left field.

And yes, they fucking suck.

a) Fuckin' energetic indeed.

b) Don't know why, but I love the new Volta album cover. It kind of gives me the creeps, it feels like something terribly wrong is going on with those three guys.

c) I also enjoy Sparta, specially Wiretap Scars.
