I dunno, cool people seem to like them. Their singer seems like an awesome dude:

other subject: I think bands who have punk style but also a musicianshippy side to them is one of the coolest things imaginable. stuff like Nomeansno, Drive Like Jehu, Hot Snakes, Akimbo, Young Widows, Triclops!, At the Drive-In, Victims Family, etc is the best and always makes me very excited

I've really never been huge on punk, but I'm a die hard Misfits fan. I heard them over a decade ago, saw a couple shows, and love them to death. It's a shame that they couldn't stick it out with Graves/Chud. They really had something going when they all got back together. Now they're just kinda a hollow shadow of themselves.

I like Millencolin, too. That's really about it.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of the Misfits as well, although I've never seen them live. They're probably one of the bands that I would love to go see in their prime if I had a time machine (this could be a thread topic!). I saw a video on youtube where the Misfits were covering Black Flag with the lead singer of Negative Approach, and though the sound-quality was absolute shit, it's things like that which I would have loved to be a part of.

Also, I'm listening to Terrorizer for the first time, and they're awesome (I figure we can discuss grind in a punk thread). Which I probably should have known by now. Apparently their lead-singer was in Nausea, which is cool. I love their logo:

They're a band I want to musically enjoy more because I like their iconography so much. Early Carcass falls into this category as well. I saw a Carcass shirt which featured a detailed drawing of a woman pulling off her own face, and I was like "that's amazing!" but I don't listen to enough Carcass to at all justify the purpose.

haha, Misfits are ace.
Like Samhain better, though.
If you dig Misfits check out

Calabrese
The Crimson Ghosts
Cancerslug
The Other
Blitzkid
Rezurex
The Undead
Zombeast
Death Riders
Bloodsucking Zombies From Outer space

...

I would avoid bands like Wednesday 13 and Dr. Chud's X-ward, though.

They're not horrible, per se, the thing is they seem to be more "rock star" than garage, if that makes any sense.

Okay, so I found something cool. Skitsystem were a crust band from Sweden that Tomas Lindberg did vocals for, for a while. I went to their website and found that they have most all of their music available to download for free. Which is pretty nice of them.

Yeah, makes sense. I find the Murderdolls boring, but Wednesday 13 is great. Find the guy's country album, it's called Highway to Hangovers under the name Bourbon Crow. Funny as hell, and quite good.

If you like Tomas Lindberg, I'd recommend Disfear's Live the Storm.
