I keep hearing the cries about being the future of Metal and all, and I do think the guys are talented. But all I hear is chug riffs and dogs barking. And 1 crack addict drummer. I freely admit being in the "Don't get it" camp. I've tried every album they've done so far, but it never clicks. I seriously doubt going into Post-Rock wankery will change my mind though.

I own two albums including Blood Mountain, and I just don't get what is so great with this. The drummer is good yes, but the rest is uncreative to my ears. Way overrated in my humblest of opinions.

Let me hold the flag for the "we get it" camp.

I for one think we are watching history in the making. Leviathan and Blood Mountain will be looked back as classics and I am grateful to have heard them at their time. If Mastodon can keep it up they will become a legendary band, but it's too soon to tell.

i can see why people like Mastodon a lot, but i don't like the vocals. when they get someone awesome like Scott Kelly to do guest vocals they can kick lots of ass though.

It's a good song but I have trouble seeing it as amazing. It is interesting but can't keep me interested for too long and the vocals irritate me. Birchmen and Blood&Thunder are the only too songs I love.

uncreative?! That is the one thing I never thought I would hear labeled for mastodon. To all the naysayers I have a feeling the new album could change your mind as its incredible.
