I've tried to get into these guys, im still trying actually. People say its a thrashy death metal sound. Which sucks cause i found that listening to Lamb Of God and then Cannibal Corpse right after really fast gets a better experience then the new Miasma cd. Im sure the cd will grow on me, and a week from now ill be a hypocrite disagreeing with everything i typed, but tell me what you guys think, are there any other Thrash/Death metal bands that are worth listening too?

So what the hell are you trying to say?

You don't like BDM but want more bands like them? Or you think BDM aren't Deathrash and want some real bands to check out?

Best death/thrash I ever heard is The Crown. Unfortunately they split up, but go for any of their following albums: Hell is Here, Crowned in Terror (with Thomas Lindberg of At The Gates), Possessed 13, Crowned Unholly (Crowned in Terror rerecorded with their original vocalist). But the one I would recommand the most is Deathrace King, it simply kills.

At The Gates is the best band ever.

Since you have Slaughter of the Soul, get Terminal Spirit Disease.

I always thought the Red in the Sky is Ours and With Fear I Kiss the Burning Darkness were ATG's good albums.

They are. Slaughter of the Soul and Terminal Spirit Disease aren't nearly as good.

Yeah, once you have ATG and a few others, BDM becomes unnecessary anyway. Don't sweat it

And for the record, I will never understand how someone can prefer the earlier At The Gates cds to TSD, they aren't bad by any means but they never caught my ear at all. I know I'm sure to hear "that's because your gay and you like melodeath  " but hey, give me a break.

Because you are homosexual and you like melodeath.

Actually, the earlier CDs are just really great. Lots of rawness and energy and screaming all around. I prefer them to the catchy riffs of Slaughter of the Soul and Terminal Spirit Disease.

Just a matter of personal preference, of course.

Well I do prefer TSD to Slaughter of the Soul. When I listen to Slaugher of the Soul I just keep hearing Carcass-Heartwork.

Maybe you've got the CD in the wrong case?

Wow you're on form today, Zadster.

Anyway, I feel that ATG got better with each album. TSD and SOTS are the only two I listen to really regularly. The first two are unquestionably "wilder", which is a plus point, certainly, but I just feel that the riffs and melodies on their later stuff are honed to perfection.

Yeah. I like all ATG, but I think it's one of those bands who really tightened and improved their sound. I like their last two albums best.
