Well, when i was not into the metal scene i listened to Slipknot and kind of liked them.. I liked their first release the best-

urgh. Really? Well even when i thought that the whole nu-metal deal was ''cool'', (which wasn't too long ago, start of last year actually) and bands like Dark Tranquility were 'too heavy' and Iron Maiden 'too pussy', i still found this to be an awful cd. They tried too hard to be extreme and still fit in the mainstream. I wonder how much cred they'd have if they pursued a more aggressive sound, like their former bands Body Pit and Anal Blast, which were supposed to be straight-up death metal. Do you think they could have got any underground credibility?

Do I need to say anything, or does the namedropping MA Knowledge speak for itself?

Anyway, get the damn CD already, Legacy. Now.

Patience, young one (although I am younger than you, so I really have no right to call you that. :P ), I'll get it in due time. It's not like I can readily head out to the record store whenever I want with a pocket-full of cash. I haven't bought one CD this month so far.

However, I expect that I'll catch a ride there sometime soon, and you can bet your ass that this one will be the first on my list.

Alright then, I won't have to find your house and force-feed you shards of hot glass with 'Lamb of God - New American Gospel' written on them in permanent marker to remind you to buy it. That's good, you probably live a ways away from me.

I just borrowed this from a friend of mine and I have to say I'm not a least bit impressed so far. I'll give it a few spins though.

I myself should probably check out Lamb of God sometime seeing as to how they've gotten a lot of rave reviews. Which is their best album overall?

Burn the Priest is their angriest, thrashiest, and least commercial.

Ashes of the Wake has the best songwriting.

New American Gospel strikes a balance between those.

As the Palaces Burn has a bunch of great songs, and the best guitar-duo performance of them all.

I would go with As the Palaces Burn. For me it has the best songs, it's consistent, the performances are stellar, the production is...different, but I love it (much more than Ashes), and definitely the best closing track of the three (or four) albums, as well as my favorite individual LOG song which is the title track. If I want to listen to LOG, which doesn't happen that often recently, I listen to ATPB.

How is it? I've been eyeing this one for quite awhile now. I have heard Black Label, and the breakdown makes me want to shit myself from epileptic shock (and I mean that in the best way possible... It's awesome)

Judging from that song, the vocals will take some getting used to.

IMO the breakdowns in Ruin and 11th Hour are better. One thing about Lamb of God that separates them from other metalcore bands is that their breakdowns are actually good.

Breakdowns in metalcore are a must. Unearth has some really good breakdowns.........and some really awful breakdowns (ones that make the nu-metal kids get into metalcore) Nu-metal kids should just die. hahaha i bet theres gonna be so many of them trick or treating this year, BECAUSE THEY HAVE SLIPKNOT MASKS AT HOT TOPIC!

 Most metalcore is stale and boring too, wouldn't everyone agree.

ATPB is my only LOG album. I love 'Ruin', and the other songs aren't bad either.

Ruin is awesome, but 11th Hour is even better.

I like that as well, but I find "Ruin" to be a perfect kick-off song for the album. Everything, from the starting riff to the breakdown is great. "11th Hour" is still good, but not as good. :P
