Great band if you can deal with the changes they've gone through.

Sort of agree. I think Soul Searching Sun was a 50/50 album! Half the songs were excellent, the other half sucked. The new album is great, the sort of combined the styles of all three of those albums and melded it into one, though it's not as heavy as River Runs Red, more like an Ugly/Soul Searching Sun hybrid.

Bunch of whiny, crying, ass-bandits. I remeber the alternative rock station here played "My Mind is Dangerous" on a non-stop loop for like two months. :x

Which songs were excellent on Soul Searching Sun? The only one I remember being great is Weeds.

Completly agree with you Eyesore although I thought Soul Searching Sun was a little "Light" Compared to RRR but thier whole catalog is kinda a trilogy in the fact that alot of the songs delt with his(Caputos) fucked up childhood and mothers suicide and chronicles first his anger, then him searching for answers and learning to deal with it. The lyrics are very personal and sincere wich is why I love them so much and why I dont hate them for releasing SSS and straying from the RRR sound. 1988-1999 was a good album too although a few of the tracks are God-Awfull.

"Weeds" is an excellent tune. "My Mind Is Dangerous" is a great song, "Hope" kicks ass, "Neg," "Whispers," "Led You Astray" "None," and "Desire" are all excellent songs with a very big Ugly feel to them, except maybe for "Desire." Plenty of songs on that album are really good.

Right, you can't expect musicians and artists who actually write heartfelt and honest lyrics to continue writing shit about suicide when they're not suicidal anymore! Hehehe. Keith is clearly a very—dare I say?—gentle artist? At one point I thought he was gay! You can't write good angry music if you're not angry anymore!

River Runs Red and Ugly were excellent, Soul Searching Sun was about a 5 out of 10 and Broken Valley is about an 8 out of 10. Nothing extremely heavy like their earlier material, but a good mixture of the Ugly stuff and the good Soul Searching Sun material.

Have you heard any of Keith's solo work? Excellent stuff. Try and find the Absolute Bloom material, too, equally as good, but not as much of it to find. He did a more recent side-project called FREAX, but some drama unfolded when the guy he collaborated with wouldn't reimburse Keith his expenses and then started ripping off Keith's fans by taking their money and not sending the CDs, so now the CD is virtually impossible to find, but if you can find the MP3s I'd suggest you check them out. Excellent work. Too bad it's so rare and it was released in 2003. Sad.

Anyway...

Aah ok cool. I didnt know about the FREAX project but I will, thanks for the heads up on that.. I did however invest in 2 Steromud albums wich left me with no opinion whatsoever.

The only solo song I heard from his solo carrer was Rasberry Mockery. But I was a tad dissapointed. Does it(Album) further evolve the story where LOA left off? The new album I will be checking out though.

Right after LOA broke up, Keith started the Absolute Bloom project and they put out one 4-song demo. They broke up after that and Keith went on to release a good amount of solo material under his name. He released three solo albums, two singles and one live album. The music is very mellow, lots of piano and acoustic work. Nothing like LOA at all. Then, of course, he did the ill-fated FREAX project.

Joey Z. formed Stereomud after LOA and they put out two CDs. This band has more in common with the current LOA sound, but the singer had a very gritty, dirty vocal style. Musically it's got that heavy, alternative rock sound. Joey Z. was the only one who was able to land a record deal.

Alan Robert went on to form Among Thieves, another band similar to Stereomud in style, but much better in my opinion. They released three demo CDs, a full length album and a Japan-only studio/live CD. All self-released.

Sal did the least out of all of them (he wasn't in the band for Soul Searching Sun). He formed Supermassiv in 2001 and they released a self-released EP called Resurrection. The music is dark and heavy, similar to that of what Joey and Alan did in style, but they broke up after the EP was released.

No idea, now. Try the official LOA site and see if Alan has a way you can order them.

You can get one of their demos on eBay right now: CLICK HERE!

You can probably get it cheap, this seller's selling points really suck! Hehehe. He just put Life Of Agony in the subject line, how alluring!! Hehehe...no mention as to WHY Life Of Agony fans might want that CD!!
