Finally got a hold of it. It's stompin' like all of Neaera's work. Love it. :dio: I absolutely love their guitar tone on the album and the vocals. It should get reviewed here but like most metal sites these guys get overlooked which I think is a shame. They're a great representation what good metalcore/deathcore can sound like.

Coincidentally, I got hold of it yesterday. At first I was going to download it first, to make sure wether I'd like it but then I figured these guys never dissapoint, so I just bought it. And man, is it good.

Gonna bump this and add

Johnny Truant - In The Library Of Horrific Events

Some other stuff that is decent that is better than all that mainstream metalcore stuff at least, if you even want to call it metalcore.

Ion Dissonance - Cursed
Psyopus - Our Puzzling Encounters Considered
Tony Tapdane Extravaganza - Danza III
Norma Jean - Redeemer
The Chariot - War and Rumors of War
Into The Moat - The Design
The Black Dahlia Murder - Nocturnal

Along with DEP, Converge, Botch, BTBAM. There are a lot of other bands I could mention but it's probably getting too close to Post-Hardcore and a lot of these are probably borderline as it is...

I'm going to check out August Burns Red and see if it is any decent. I've heard they are sorta similar to Norma Jean.

As I Lay Dying - An Ocean Between Us
Killswitch Engage - as Daylight Dies
Trivium - Shogun
Protest The Hero - Fortress

Would you even be able to call Scurrilous Metalcore? I dunno, I don't think I would.

Probably not, you're right. Is it just prog metal at this point?

I've tagged it as Progressive Metal. Then again, I have a bad habit of tagging everything I have some doubts about as Progressive Metal.

My personal favorite albums are:

The Word Alive - Deceiver
Memphis May Fire - The Hollow

The Hollow is in my top 5 albums of all time, best choruses ever. Their sound may be generic but the songs are amazing. Same applies for Deceiver but to a smaller extent. Truly standout for me in the genre.

I'm not sure if this band belongs in this conversation but I've always liked Anterior's 'This Age of Silence'.
