a little off topic, but I've always considered gabber/hardcore to be the techno version of metal, and there's a subgenre of techno called dubstyle which combines dubstep and hardcore that appeals to me greatly. Unfortunately there are only a few songs produced in this style.... the best being Brennan Heart's Point of MF perfection. Obsidia also has a few songs which fit inside this niche. Basically it's dubstep with hardcore kick and leads.
