now this is gay
There are so many worse deathcore bands than that one.
Man has a point, but lately I've just been soooooo burnt out by them. That's all that tour around here practicly, most good metal bands stay away from here. And the kids eat this shit up,literally, its scary how good business is for these young trendy bands popping up around here. And when I go to show them(kids) any real decent metal they're like "eewww, where's the breakdown?!Where's the catchy chorus?".Sad really, and I used to give it a chance, but few bands impress me,since its nearly all about making the most br00tal moshing breakdown.Hell all the decent bands are even looking for new means of spicing up an otherwise tired fad, electronics, incorperating blackened metal elements etc.A few succeed, like All Shall Perish, but for the most part I'm through with this schtuffs.
thats because metalcore is still the new sound, much to the dismay of the "tr00" metalheads. You need to know where to look first off, bands like The Red Chord, Glass Casket, Through the eyes of the dead, With Passion, and Whitechapel blow rings past the likes of shit like Impending doom and Liferuiner. Much for the reason they incorporate different elements, i don't think necessarily to be different but because thats what they grew up with. I mean you can talk to these guys and they'll tell you they grew up listening to Suffocation along with the likes of NYHC like Cro Mags and Agnostic front. I think the deathcore stigma does a lot to damage the credibility of these bands that play the music that has hardcore influences but doesn't overplay with breakdowns. Thats my take on Despised Icon at least.
