So I'm trying to talk a friend into starting a grindcore band with me. Having never listened to grindcore, what songs does he have to hear?

So far I'm thinking:
Cattle Decapitation - The Harvest Floor/Regret & the Grave
Some Teen Cthulhu
Some Berzerker
Some Pig Destroyer

That's all I got. I'm sure you guys will recommend some Napalm Death but I don't know what tracks to start with.

Erm, lessee...

Beginner's Guide To Napalm Death (not in order) - Silence Is Deafening, Unchallenged Hate, All Hail The Grey Dawn, Suffer The Children, Taste The Poison, Hung, Cock-Rock Alienation, Breed To Breathe, Nazi Punks Fuck Off, Continuing War On Stupidity, Instinct Of Survival, Scum, Control, C.S., Sink Fast Let Go, The Infiltraitor, When All Is Said And Done, and basically their entire new album.

Also, play him some stuff from the following:
Birdflesh, Agenda Of Swine, Cephalic Carnage, old (OLD!) Bolt Thrower, Disfear, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Brutal Truth, Carcass, Nasum, Phobia, Rotten Sound, Terrorizer, Watchmaker, and Skitsystem.

Circle Of Dead Children, Machetazo and Extreme Noise Terror

Hyperviolet by Pig Destroyer is probably my favorite Grind song. Awesome riff, great pace, and the drum solo at the end is fucking ace.

That is definitely on my list. It seems like I need to broaden my own grind experience considering I haven't heard of half of these bands.

I'd say you should check out Anamolies and Xenomorph by Cephalic Carnage. Awesome band .
