NEW ICED EARTH SINGLE TO BE RELEASED

ICED EARTH are set to launch the next installment of Jon Schaffer's "Something Wicked" saga with the release of their new single, 'I Walk Among You', in June of 2008. The full-length studio follow-up to Something Wicked Part I is due for release in fall of 2008. The new single and proceeding full-length studio album mark the return of longtime frontman Matt Barlow, to narrate the annihilation of mankind set in motion with the story's main character, Set Abominae, in Something Wicked Part II. The single will feature 3 songs, an exclusive version of the song 'I Walk Alone' and a few tracks from Framing Armageddon (Something Wicked Part 1) with new vocal performances by Matt Barlow. There will be an iTunes exclusive version of the single 'I Walk Among You' that features 'A Charge To Keep' which has also been re-sung by Matt, remixed and re-mastered. IN FLAMES: New Album Samples Available

Audio samples of all 12 tracks that are set to appear on "A Sense Of Purpose", the new album from Swedish metallers IN FLAMES, are available for streaming at Play.com. Due on April 1 (April 7 in most of Europe via Nuclear Blast), the follow-up to 2006's "Come Clarity" was recorded at the band's own IF Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden and was mixed by Toby Wright (METALLICA, SLAYER). Guitarist MIKE KIMBALL Quits DYING FETUS

Guitarist Mike Kimball has left Maryland-based extreme metallers DYING FETUS.
Commented Mike in a statement: "This is easily the most difficult decision I've ever had to make in my life. I have had moments where I felt that it might be time to part ways with DYING FETUS but didn't want to accept it out of love for performing as a musician, and, of course, being less than thrilled with the prospect of disappointing my bandmates or the fans. Sludge-grind legends Mistress and rock quintet Exploder have decided to call it a day. The overlapping personnel involved in both bands have been making music together in various forms for a number of years. Multi-instrumentalist Mick Kenney’s side project Frost is also to be no more. 60,000 Tickets Sold For This Year's WACKEN OPEN AIR Festival

According to the Wacken Open Air festival organizers, 60,000 tickets have already been sold for this year's event, which is scheduled to take place July 31 - August 2, 2008 in Wacken, Germany. The organizers write in a press release, "We think that [we'll be] sold out latest at the end of March/beginning of April! Those who haven't already bought their tickets should act promptly. We will definitely not sell any tickets at the festival. Also one-day tickets will not be offered. Furthermore we'd like to warn you [not] to buy your tickets at eBay or any other high-priced online ticket shops!"

German power metallers PRIMAL FEAR, who yesterday announced that guitarist Stefan Leibing was leaving the band in order to focus on family life, have issued the following update:
"We've decided to continue with one of the most exciting and respected guitar player in the business — Magnus Karlsson from Sweden. Guitarist Stefan Leibing has announced his departure from German power metallers PRIMAL FEAR. His statement reads as follows:
"Dear PRIMAL FEAR fans, after 10 years being in PRIMAL FEAR I have decided to take a time out from the music business for some time. I do this for my family, especially for my two little sons, who deserve to have more time together with their father. Of course, this is no easy decision, even if I know this is the right one.
