Anal Cunt

As of December 21, the band has called it quits - according to the A.C. website: "There will be no more new recordings, no shows, no 15th anniversary show, nothing. No particular reason except it's boring, and it's run its course. No ones mad at each other, no fights, it's just over."

Jag Panzer

In an interview with James Raggi of Lamentations Of The Flame Princess, guitarist Mark Briody speaks of a personal tradition not too many people are aware of that has carried over into Mechanized Warfare:

“On ‘All Things Renewed,’ I get to do my Def Leppard guitar part! Not that I’m the biggest Def Leppard fan, but when they break out the harmony guitars like on ‘Bringin’ On The Heartbreak,’ I’m like ‘Yeeeeah!’ and I have to play air guitar. It’s sort of my gratuitous epic song I do every album. I’m really, really into metal songs that become anthems since I heard ...

From the breathtaking winter landscape of Norway, Øystein G. Brun writes in to share what the band has been involved in recently:

"Borknagar is currently working on new material for the next album, still untitled. Most of the material is written with the rough plan for studio time in Autumn '02. We intend to use the same studio and engineer as on Empiricism. Musically it will be a continuation of the latest effort.

We've also been nominated (second time in a row) for the best metal album of '01 to receive the Norwegian Alarm award. The public has access to vote on their favourite album at www.alarmweb.org. Please vote!

Road warriors they are and road warriors they will always be, as proved by guitarist Moyses Kolesne:

"We just got back to Brasil 3 days ago. The tour all over Europe with Cannibal Corpse and Kreator went really great! All the shows were a full blast of intensity, packed and crazy. All the Xmas Fest and Polish Fest we headlined were great shows...crowds from 500 to 2300 persons. By the way, Japan was killer, too. Total we did 2 months non-stop touring under snow." Angel Dust
06 Jan 2002

Bassist and founding member Frank Banx wanted to pass this bit of information along to all of those who are looking forward to their latest work, Of Human Bondage, set for North American release on March 5th:

"While nothing special happened during the recording of the new album, it was just quite unusual for us to write all the songs and lyrics within such a short period when Ritchie [Wilkeson, guitarist] stayed here for composing. We had only 2 weeks for the main work with him! This album is much more straight-forward than all our previous albums (there's no lyrical concept tying all the songs together this time), and we even have a cover song... It's "Killer" from Adamski (that of course has the Angel Dust feeling). We hope we can tour in the USA again for the new album, maybe, if we're lucky."
