Live Edguy Video Available For Download

A video of EDGUY performing the track "The Headless Game" at last year's ProgPower USA III festival is now available for download at this location.

EDGUY will release their first-ever double live album, "Burning Down The Opera", on June 2 through AFM Records. The band, whose last CD, "Mandrake", was released in 2001, have begun the pre-production process for their new studio album, tentatively due in early 2004.

Moonspell parts ways with bass player

Moonspell and their long time bass player Sérgio C. have parted ways and put a term on their collaboration. The departure was amicable. Moonspell is working on finding a substitute for the recording sessions and will enlist someone to assure their live compromises.

In the meanwhile the recordings will be assured by Niclas Etelavouri the current bass player of long time friends Amorphis.

Metallica's St. Anger to include bonus DVD

Recording began last Friday, March 21st, in the rehearsal space at HQ with the band performing six songs....the first with Rob for the cameras... unless of course, you count amateur Swedish home videos. There will be no fancy shit, just Metallica doing what they do best, kicking your ass, and don't worry, the CD will be regularly priced, we just wanna throw in some extra free shit for you guys ! St. Anger is scheduled to be released on June 10th.

Former Savatage lead Singer surfaces in new band.

After two years of silence, the former SAVATAGE singer ZAK STEVENS is now back with his own band called CIRCLE II CIRCLE. The material lies somewhere between SAVATAGE highlights like Hall Of The Mountain King, Edge Of Thorns and Dead Winter Dead. As a special bonus, the debut album will be produced by no one else than SAVATAGE mastermind Jon Oliva who is also contributing some background vocals and a brilliant duet with Zak Stevens on the song "Forgiven". Savatage guitarist Chris Caffery also appears on the album. The debut is entitled "Watching In Silence" and is scheduled for April 28, 2003.

Great White To Perform Benefit Concert

GREAT WHITE members will make their first live appearance since last month's tragic club fire in Rhode Island on Thursday, April 17 at the Hard Rock Cafe in Beverly Hills, California. All proceeds from the gig will benefit The Baby Longley Fund, set up on behalf of the unborn child of late GREAT WHITE guitarist Ty Longley, who lost his life in the inferno. In addition to GREAT WHITE members Jack Russell, Mark Kendall, Sean McNabb and Dave Felice, the show will feature appearances by Yuko of THE JACK RUSSELL BAND and HAPPENIN' HARRY & THE HAPTONES.

Iced Earth Split With Guitarist

ICED EARTH have parted ways with guitarist Larry Tarnowski on the eve of the recording sessions for the group's new CD, tentatively titled "Glorious Burden". "[Larry] will continue his studies and we wish him all the best for his future endeavors," ICED EARTH mainman Jon Schaffer wrote on the band's official web site. "There will be a few different guest appearances on the record for the solo's and we will be deciding on a touring replacement in the near future. I'll be making that decision after the recording and will let [everyone] know who it will be in the next few months."

Queensryche and Dream Theater team up for North American Tour

QUEENSRYCHE and DREAM THEATER will team up for a 50/50 co-headlining tour of North America beginning in June, according to a posting on www.queensryche.com. "And if you think the pairing up of these two bands was good enough, just wait till you find out who they're to get to open up," continues the message. "Tour dates will be announced shortly. 2003 Metal Gods Tour Update:

Sweden's DARK TRANQUILLITY have denied reports that they have been confirmed for The 2003 Metal Gods Tour, a multi-band package featuring HALFORD, co-headliners TESTAMENT, IMMORTAL, CARNAL FORGE, PAIN MUSEUM, and AMON AMARTH.

"Regarding touring, the information circulating on the [Internet] implying that [DARK TRANQUILLITY] will be part of the HALFORD tour package in the U.S. isn't correct," the band said in a statement posted on their official web site. "At present, no new tours are confirmed."

"New Sound" For new Impellitteri CD

IMPELLITTERI, the band led by guitar legend Chris Impellitteri, are currently working on their new CD, due before the end of the year. According to the group's official web site, the forthcoming album will represent "a new sound for the band. Fast, furious and a touch of opera. Chris has been talking with MAJOR producers to help give the band a new sound. Of course the shredding will continue. And there may be a surprise or two!!!!!" IMPELLITTERI's last studio CD, 2002's "System X", featured the services of former RAINBOW/MSG frontman Graham Bonnet.
