Secret Sphere release new song

Italian power metallers Secret Sphere will release their seventh album, Portrait of a Dying Heart, before the end of the year through Warner Music (Japan) and Scarlet Records (rest of the world). The CD will feature a 40-page booklet, including the novel She Complies with the Night on which the album is based. The song The Fall can be streamed here.

Converge release new song

Converge will release its highly anticipated new studio album, All We Love We Leave Behind, on October 9. The effort will be made available in a deluxe package that includes a 48-page, full-color hardcover, clothbound book with original art created by singer Jacob Bannon via Epitaph (vinyl on Deathwish). Accompanying the track Aimless Arrow is a new video directed by talented filmmaker Max Moore that visually expands on the heavy emotional lyrical content that the song carries. A new Converge song, Shame in the Way, taken from the forthcoming CD can be streamed at here.

Aeon release new album details

Swedish death metal overlords Aeon have unveiled the details of their fourth studio offering, Aeons Black. Set to drop on November 20 via Metal Blade Records, the mammoth 15-track effort was recorded at Empire Studio in Östersund, Sweden, engineered, mixed and mastered by Ronnie Björnström (Garageland Studios). The first single from Aeons Black, the album's title track, can be streamed here.

Behold the Arctopus to release new album

Brooklyn, New York-based progressive/experimental instrumental metal band Behold the Arctopus will release its second full-length album, Horrorscension, on October 23 via Black Market Activities. The CD marks the recording debut of the group's drummer, Weasel Walter, a multi-instrumentalist renowned for his work under the name The Flying Luttenbachers and his widespread collaborations across the free jazz, noise, and metal genres. Walter joins founding members Colin Marston (12-string Warr guitar) and Mike Lerner (guitar). Marston is also a member of Krallice, Gorguts and Dysrhythmia, as well as an acclaimed recording engineer whose recent credits include Kayo Dot, Jarboe and Altar of Plagues. Monuments release video for 97% Static

97% Static, the new video from U.K. progressive tech metallers Monuments, can be seen here. The clip was directed by Stuart Birchall of Numinous Pictures. 97% Static comes off Monuments' long-awaited debut album, Gnosis, which will be released in North America on September 25 through Century Media Records.

New General Surgery song available for streaming

Swedish goregrind legends General Surgery will release a brand new seven-inch EP, Like an Ever Flying Limb, on November 6 via Relapse Records. The limited-edition EP contains five new tracks and was recorded in October 2011 at Audiogrind Studio in the band's hometown of Stockholm. The Like an Ever Flying Limb title track is available for streaming here. General Surgery plans to enter the studio in the near future to record its long-awaited third full-length album.

Fragments of Unbecoming announce album release date

German death metallers Fragments of Unbecoming will release their fifth album, The Art of Coming Apart, on November 30 via Cyclone Empire. According to the band, the CD "will contain eight brutal Swedish death metal songs and two instrumentals." The group adds, "The songs sound awesome after being mixed in Soundtunnel Studio by Ingo Maier and mastered by Dan Swanö."

Graveyard release new video

The official video for the song Goliath from Swedish blues rockers Graveyard can be seen here. The clip was filmed with director Artur Wolgers in a lo-fi way, just like Graveyard's video for Hisingen Blues, the title track of the band's previous album. The track comes off the band's third album, Lights Out, which will be released on October 26 via Nuclear Blast Records. The Goliath single will precede the full-length CD on September 21 as a digital download and on seven-inch vinyl. The single will include a special non-album track, Leaving You. The Goliath seven-inch vinyl will be issued in four different colors, featuring four different cover artworks.
