EIDOLON Part Ways With Singer, Announce Replacement

Toronto, Canada's EIDOLON have parted ways with their singer, Pat Mulock, "for reasons of both a musical and personal nature," according to an official press release. "I express no interest in giving any childish, gory details or go into any specifics as to why we have decided to take this path," said drummer Shawn Drover. "It simply wasn't working for us anymore on a musical level mostly, so in all fairness to the band, a change is necessary at this point in time - we do wish Pat luck on his future musical endeavors.

THEATRE OF TRAGEDY To Introduce New Singer At Upcoming Show

Norway's THEATRE OF TRAGEDY will play an exclusive show at the Checkpoint Charlie rock club in Stavanger, Norway on Saturday, June 19. This will be the group's first show in two years and will mark the live debut of THEATRE OF TRAGEDY's as-yet-undisclosed new singer. The band are expected to perform both old material as well as new, unreleased songs.

Former ENUFF Z'NUFF Guitarist Dies Of A Drug Overdose

Former ENUFF Z'NUFF guitarist Derek Frigo is believed to have died of a drug overdose, according to unconfirmed reports. Frigo, who has been battling drug addiction for over a decade, passed away Friday (May 28) at the age of 36.

SYMPHONY X Begin Work On New Album

Prog-metallers SYMPHONY X are preparing to enter the studio to write their next CD, according to a posting on the group's official web site. The band "will be giving bi-weekly (or so) studio reports with news and pictures as the writing process progresses."

VAN HALEN: 'The Very Best Of' To Arrive In July

MelodicRock.com is reporting that VAN HALEN's "The Very Best of Van Halen" is slated for release on July 20 through Warner Bros. SCORPIONS, TESLA To Team Up For U.S. Tour?

TESLA are rumored to be planning an eight-week U.S. tour with the SCORPIONS starting mid-October. A three-band bill is reportedly being planned, with TESLA occupying the middle slot and an as-yet-undisclosed opener. No further information is currently available.

KALMAH: New Demo Samples Posted Online

Finland's KALMAH have uploaded two new demo samples at their official web site. Check out the songs "Bitter Metallic Side" and "Infernal Death" at this location.

"Bitter Metallic Side" and "Infernal Death" are expected to show up on the band's fourth full-length album, tentatively due later in the year through Spikefarm Records.

As previously reported, KALMAH recently announced the addition of keyboardist Marco Sneck (POISONBLACK) to the group's ranks. The band's last album, "Swampsong", was released last May through Spikefarm in Finland and Century Media Records in North America.
