RUSH: 'R30' DVD To Surface This Fall

RUSH will be releasing the highly anticipated "R30" DVD in late fall 2005. "R30" will feature the sold-out concert that RUSH played in Frankfurt, Germany in October 2004 during their 30th anniversary tour.
In other news, RUSH drummer Neil Peart is currently working on the follow-up to his instructional drum video, "A Work In Progress". The new video will be issued as a DVD and is set for release in late fall 2005. The new DVD is produced by Hudson Music and is entitled "Anatomy of Drum Solo".

RHAPSODY To Release Live Album In November

Italian epic metal band RHAPSODY will be releasing their first live album ever in November. The recordings will be based on performances made during leg one of MANOWAR's "Demons, Dragons and Warriors World Tour" where RHAPSODY appeared as the special guests in spring 2005.
This recently completed first leg of the tour was highly acclaimed for its stripped down and performance-oriented arrangements, which allowed the band to prove that the music is the message. Guitarist Allen West has announced his departure from OBITUARY. West's exit from the group comes on the eve of OBITUARY's U.S. tour with NAPALM DEATH and Allen feels that the fans deserve no surprises when they don't see the band that they were expecting. Allen will concentrate fully on LOWBROW, whose revamped lineup consists of founding members West, Curtis Beeson (NASTY SAVAGE) and Richard Hornberger, along with new bassist Jon Fronza. POISON Guitarist Arrested For Driving Under The Influence

According to The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (web site), POISON guitarist (real name: Bruce Johannesson)
was arrested Wednesday night (August 24) at 11:30 p.m. and booked into
Valley Jail in Van Nuys, CA for allegedly driving under the influence
of alcohol/drugs with injury. DeVille's bail was set at
$100,000 and he was released Thursday morning (Aug. 25) at 4:24 a.m.
His next court date is scheduled for Monday, September 15 at 8:30 a.m.

VOIVOD Guitarist DENIS 'PIGGY' D'AMOUR Dead Of Colon Cancer

VOIVOD guitarist Denis "Piggy" D'Amour passed away Friday night (August 26) at approximately 11:45 p.m. due to complications from advanced colon cancer — so advanced that the disease had spread to his liver. D'Amour slipped into a coma Thursday night and died less than 24 hours later in the palliative care unit of a Montreal hospital, surrounded by family and friends. He was 45 years old. Quebec City newspaper Le Soleil reported yesterday that D'Amour — who was diagnosed with colon cancer earlier in the summer — first entered the hospital for a routine operation, but several complications led his doctors to suspect more problems. MAYHEM Announce New Album Title

Norwegian black metallers MAYHEM have set "Ordo Ab Chao" as the title of their new album, tentatively due in late 2005/early 2006 via Season of Mist. The band's upcoming CD will mark their first release with vocalist Attila Csihar (TORMENTOR, ABORYM) since their 1993 album, "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas". "Expect nothing but viciousness!!" the group write on their web site.
Csihar joined MAYHEM last November as the replacement for departed singer Maniac (real name Sven Erik Kristiansen). MAYHEM's last studio album, "Chimera", entered the Norwegian album chart at position No. 28 upon its release in March 2004.

RAMMSTEIN Announce New Album Title

German industrial metallers RAMMSTEIN have set "Rosenrot" as the title of their follow-up to to last year's "Reise Reise", tentatively due this fall. The group recently shot a video for the album's first single, "Benzin",
which was aired live for the first time this past June. Several remixes
are curerntly in the works, as is the artwork for the cover of the
single and the album.
As previously reported, the band recorded several songs during the sessions for "Reise, Reise" which were omitted from the CD's final track listing. During a recent session at a Berlin studio, RAMMSTEIN recorded several more tracks and recently mixed the combined ... |

BLABBERMOUTH.NET has received a number of e-mails regarding last night's (August 20) Ozzfest concert in Devore (near San Bernardino), California, which reportedly included an on-stage appearance following IRON MAIDEN's set by Sharon Osbourne during which she called MAIDEN vocalist Bruce Dickinson a "prick."
