SAVATAGE: Earliest Known Live Footage Posted Online

An ultra-rare video clip of SAVATAGE performing the song "Holocaust" under its original moniker AVATAR at an outdoor concert sponsored by a Tampa radio station — held in a strip mall parking lot in Clearwater, Florida sometime around 1982 — has been posted online at YouTube.com. This is the earliest (known) footage of SAVATAGE that exists. The group's lineup for the performance was as follows:

Vocals - Jon Oliva
Guitar - Criss Oliva
Bass - Keith Collins
Drums - Steve Wacholz

Liechtenstein-based gothic metal group ELIS — whose lead singer, Sabine Dünser, who suffered a cerebral hemorrhage on July 7, 2006 during rehearsal and passed away the following day in hospital — has issued the following update:

We are currently looking to add some programming personnel to our staff to aide in the upgrade and expansion of the site.

Here is what we are looking for:

-Must be highly motivated and willing to spend a minimum of 15-20 hours per week on this project.

-Must be very skilled with PHP and mySQL

-Must have the ability to create new coding on top of existing code (modules), and whenever possible optimize old code. However, we do not want to start from scratch every time a new idea is conceived.

-Prior experience working on website development is a plus.

-Must have the ability to work on a large scope project, either solo or as part of a team.

An audio sample of a new MASTERPLAN song, entitled "Lost and Gone", has been posted online at this location (audio player in upper right-hand corner). The track is the title cut of the German/American band's new EP, due on January 26 via AFM Records. The CD is the group's first release to feature its new lineup of Mike DiMeo (vocals; RIOT), Roland Grapow (guitar; ex-HELLOWEEN), Mike Terrana (drums; ex-RAGE), Jan S.
