TOOL To Tour This Summer

According to a post on TOOL's official web site, the band will embark on a tour this summer. No dates have yet been announced, but it is widely expected that TOOL will fill one of the remaining headlining slots for this year's Lollapalooza festival. The group would join JANE'S ADDICTION, DEPECHE MODE, THE BEASTIE BOYS, KINGS OF LEON and THE KILLERS at the top of the bill for the event, which is scheduled for August 7-9 at Grant Park in Chicago. Chicago Tribune music columnist Greg Kot was the first to report the Lollapalooza rumor, citing "multiple industry sources" for the news, although Lollapalooza organizers have yet to officially announce any acts.

OPETH Mainman Comments On Government-Sponsored Tour Of Norway

On March 18, Swedish prog-metal giants OPETH completed an eight-date tour of Norway. The trek included stops in major cities Oslo and Bergen but also covers smaller towns like Volda and Sogndal. The tour was arranged by Rikskonsertene, a Norwegian state-sponsored organization that normally handles events featuring jazz, classical and folk artists.
Commented OPETH mainman Mikael Åkerfeldt: "We had a blast, did eight shows and all of them went well. Dutch melodic death metal band GOD DETHRONED has posted a new song, "Under a Darkening Sky", on the group's MySpace page. The track comes off GOD DETHRONED's new album, "Passiondale", which will be released as a limited double digipack edition including a bonus CD.
