San Francisco Bay Area metallers MACHINE HEAD will release their new album, "Unto The Locust", on September 27 via longtime label Roadrunner Records. The CD was recorded at JingleTown Studios in Oakland, with frontman Robb Flynn producing. The mixing duties were handled by Flynn and Juan Urteaga (EXODUS, SADUS, TESTAMENT, NIGHT RANGER, VICIOUS RUMORS, HEATHEN, VILE, CATTLE DECAPITATION). ICED EARTH: 'Dystopia' Artwork, Release Dates Revealed

Although "Dystopia", ICED EARTH's 10th studio offering, is not a concept album, founder Jon Schaffer admits there are unifying themes to several of the songs — and even an appearance by band mascot "Set Abominae."
"I've always been fascinated by the darker side of life," Schaffer said during a break from master tracking ICED EARTH's forthcoming CD. "Movies like 'Metropolis', 'Brazil', and 'The Matrix' resonate with me. The same for albums like '2112', 'The Wall', and, of course, 'Operation: Mindcrime'. Candlelight Records today confirms October 4th as the North American release date for ABSU’s new album titled Abzu. As previously announced, the album is part two of a planned trilogy of recordings from the Dallas-based mythological occult metal band. Mixed by J.T. Former X-Japan bass player dies after suicide attempt

Former X Japan bass player Taiji died after a suicide attempt in Saipan jail, where he landed after a commotion during an air flight. Discovered by warders he was rushed in intensive care where he was declared brain dead. Taiji died on July 17 at 11 a.m. after his fiancée and mother agreed with his doctor to turn off his life support system.

ICS VORTEX: 'The Blackmobile' Track Available For Streaming

"The Blackmobile", a brand new song from Norway's ICS VORTEX, the project led by the former DIMMU BORGIR and current BORKNAGAR member, can be streamed in the YouTube clip below. The track comes off the band's debut album, "Storm Seeker", which will be released on August 22 in Europe and August 23 in North America via Century Media Records.
