According to DesMoinesRegister.com, a Des Moines physician has been charged with eight counts of involuntary manslaughter for allegedly prescribing large amounts of narcotic painkillers to patients who later died of overdoses, including Slipknot bassist Paul Gray. Daniel Baldi, who helped run an Iowa Health System pain clinic, is accused of unintentionally causing the death of Paul Gray by writing "high-dose prescription narcotics to a known drug addict" starting on December 27, 2005, according to charging documents released at the doctor's court hearing today. A two-minute audio sample of Sacrimony (Angel of Afterlife), the new single from American/German/Swedish symphonic metallers Kamelot, can be streamed below. The track, which is now available on iTunes, comes off the band's new album, Silverthorn, due on October 30 in North America, October 26 in Germany and October 29 in the rest of Europe via Steamhammer/SPV. The CD will mark the band's first release with new singer Tommy Karevik, the 30-year-old Swede who previously fronted Seventh Wonder (a group that he is still a member of). The Sword announces U.S. headlining tour

Austin, Texas metal luminaries The Sword will release their fourth album, Apocryphon, on October 22 in the U.S. via Razor & Tie and November 2 in Europe through Napalm Records. The CD was produced and engineered by J. Robbins (Clutch, Jawbox) at Magpie Cage Studios and will feature cover art by famed comic book artist J.H. Williams III (Batwoman, Promethea). The Sword has announced a 37-date U.S. tour, commencing October 29 in Corpus Christi, Texas and running through December 18. Theocracy release video for Hide in the Fairytale

Hide in the Fairytale, the new video from Athens, Georgia-based melodic metallers Theocracy, can be seen below. The clip was recorded in Orlando, Florida under the watchful eye of producer Dan Drescher. Hide in the Fairytale comes off Theocracy's latest album, As the World Bleeds, which was released in November via Ulterium Records (Europe) and Nightmare Records (North America). Lamb of God announces Fall U.S. Tour with In Flames

After a successful reunion with singer Randy Blythe at the two Knotfest shows in mid-August, Richmond, Virginia metallers Lamb of God have announced a 38-date fall U.S tour starting October 30 in Phoenix, Arizona. Joining Lamb of God as direct support for the entire tour is In Flames. Hatebreed will be joining the package from October 30 until November 19, at which point Hellyeah will replace them for the remainder of the shows. British band Sylosis will open all dates. Edge of a Dream, the new video from Greek melodic metallers Firewind, can be seen through the link below. According to the band, the song — which features a guest appearance by Finnish cello superstars Apocalyptica — "brings the classy feel of metal ballads back into a modern spotlight." Edge of a Dream comes off Firewind's latest album, Few Against Many, which was released in Europe on May 21 via Century Media Records and in North America on May 22 through DisManic, Inc. via eOne Distribution.
