We have had many people join in the past that wrote a few reviews and quit soon after and we would like to avoid this if possible. Voivod release cover art for new album

Canadian metal innovators Voivod will release their new album, Target Earth, on January 22, 2013 (one day earlier internationally) via Voivod's own company, Iron Gang Factory, and Century Media. The CD was recorded in January at Pierre Rémillard's (Obliveon, Cryptopsy, Krisiun, Misery Index) Wild Studio in a small town called St-Zénon in Quebec, Canada. The follow-up to 2009's Infini will contain the band's first music to be written with new guitarist Daniel "Chewy" Mongrain (Martyr) following the passing of original axeman Denis "Piggy" D'Amour in 2005.

Hatriot announce release date for debut album

Hatriot, the new San Francisco Bay Area thrash metal band led by former Exodus and Legacy (pre-Testament) frontman Steve "Zetro" Souza, will release its debut album, Heroes of Origin, on January 25, 2013 via Germany's Massacre Records. The CD was recorded with producer Juan Urteaga (Machine Head, Exodus, Testament) and features guest appearances by Testament's Chuck Billy and Machine Head's Phil Demmel .

Bloodbound release new music video

In the Name of Metal, the new video from Swedish melodic metallers Bloodbound, can be seen here. The song is the title track of the band's fifth full-length album, In the Name of Metal, which will be released on November 7 via AFM Records, The effort was recorded with producer Jonas Kjellgren (Scar Symmetry, Sonic Syndicate, Hypocrisy, Centinex, Carnal Forge). According to the band, "This is by far the best album we've done!"

Landmine Marathon parts ways with singer, announces replacement.

Landmine Marathon have parted ways with vocalist Grace Perry and have replaced her with Krysta Martinez (of Portland's Transient).

Commented the band: "This summer, Grace decided to leave the band to pursue non-musical endeavors. We are grateful for all of her contributions to Landmine Marathon and wish her nothing but future successes."

Added Martinez: "I'm stoked to be creating music with Landmine Marathon and look forward to hitting the road with them in coming months. Grace is an amazing vocalist, and filling her shoes is a great challenge. Things have been incredibly enjoyable so far and the best is surely yet to come."

Holy Grail release cover art for upcoming album

Southern California traditional metallers Holy Grail will release their sophomore album, Ride the Void, in Europe on January 18, 2013 via Nuclear Blast Records and in North America on January 22, 2013 through Prosthetic Records. The effort will be made available as a limited CD version including a bonus track, a black 2LP version and a strictly limited clear 2LP version. The cover artwork can be seen here.

Scar Symmetry to tour North America

Swedish progressive melodic death metal icons Scar Symmetry will return to the North American continent once again in November/December as part of The Unseen Empire North American tour.

Suffocation frontman to sit out most shows in support of new album

Jo Schüftan of Horns Up Rocks! conducted an interview with vocalist Frank Mullen of New York death metal veterans Suffocation prior to the band's October 21 concert at Club Revolution in Amityville, New York.

Asked about Suffocation's touring plans in support of the band's upcoming album, Mullen said, "I can't really tour full time anymore. So when the album comes out, they'll probably set up about a month-[long] tour, or something like that, in the States. I'll only do about two weeks of it. There'll be a fill-in singer [doing the rest of the shows]. And then I'll probably do maybe a week, or a week and a half, over in Europe, and then any other touring they do f ...
