ANGRA's 'Temple Of Shadows' Is A Huge Success In Japan
02 Oct 2004
The new ANGRA album, entitled "Temple of Shadows",
has sold over 20 thousand copies in Japan in its first week of release,
according to a posting on the group's web site. The CD was also one of
the highlights in the October 2004 issue of Burrn! magazine, where it earned some of the publication's highest ratings (91, 89 and 87 points out of 100).
In other news, ANGRA's Aquiles Priester is featured on the cover of the Brazilian edition of the Modern Drummer magazine. The musician opens the vault and reveals all the details about the recordings of the new album, "Temple of Shadows", and talks about many other subjects related to his career. The article also includes a detailed overview of all the equipment in Aquiles' gigantic drum kit. The follow-up to 2001's "Rebirth", "Temple of Shadows" was recorded almost entirely in the group's home country of Brazil, with only some of the vocals and the keyboards having been recorded in Germany, where the mixing sessions also took place. Several world-renowned musicians make guest appearances on the album, including Kai Hansen (GAMMA RAY), Sabine Edelsbacher (EDENBRIDGE), Hansi Kürsch (BLIND GUARDIAN) and Milton Nascimento (a very famous singer in Brazil). European and U.S. release dates for the album have not yet been announced.
