Tiamat to release new album
16 Aug 2003

As a preview the first single Cain will be released September 29th, 2003. The single contains a radio edit of the album opener, the straight up-tempo rocker Love In Chains and an exclusive cover-version of the old Wasp classic Sleeping (In The Fire) - everything packed in a nice Digipak with cover artwork by Edlund himself.

Cain pretty much sums up the best parts the Prey album and Tiamat themselves - melodies for eternity, biblical lyrics (though influenced in which direction is up to the listener to decide), hard-rocking guitars and overall Edlund's deep, dark and warm voice.

The self-produced album was mixed and mastered at Finnvox Studios. It's not a concept album, but there is a strong unifying theme running through each of the 13 tracks.

As Edlund describes, it's one of his most personal albums, stepping over various emotional moods from atmospheric epic songs like the album version of Cain, Divided or the title track Prey, while tracks like Nihil and The Pentagram (based on a poem by Aleister Crowley and approved by the Ordo Templi Orientis) are digging deep in the darkness. Catchy hits like Wings Of Heaven or Carry Your Cross And I'll Carry Mine are proving once more his outstanding talent as a songwriter. If this sounds like a summary of Wildhoney, A Deeper Kind Of Slumber, Skeleton Skeletron and Judas Christ - yes, it is that, but always moving one step ahead.
