BEFORE THE DAWN, the melodic death metal band masterminded by Tuomas Saukkonen, will release their new album, "The Ghost", on May 26th via Locomotive Music. The CD was recorded and mixed at Villvox studios during the fall and early winter 2005 by Aleksanteri Kuosa. Mastering duties were handled by Minerva Pappi at Finnvox studios.

BEFORE THE DAWN is back to being a Tuomas Saukkonen solo project since the group's previous lineup disbanded. The group's current touring formation is as follows:

Tuomas Saukkonen - Guitar/vocals
Lars Eikind (WINDS) - Bass/Vocals
Juho Räihä - Guitar
Aatu Mukka - Drums
Joel Mäkinen - Keyboards (from March onwards)

In related news, Tuomas has launched the official website for his other project, DAWN OF SOLACE. Tuomas describes the project as follows:

"DAWN OF SOLACE was an unborn twin to BEFORE THE DAWN until I started the writing process for the 3rd BTD album, "The Ghost." With over 30 written songs it was clear to me that one normal album would not be enough.

First plan was to make a double album for BTD but some of the material was slower, more melodic and darker than the songs I had chosen for "The Ghost" and I wanted to take that a bit further without any limitations that BTD might create since I have a very clear vision what I want BTD to sound now and in the future."
