Shadows Fall
17 Nov 2001
Brian Fair, Shadows Fall's singer, provides the following update: "We just played a benefit this Saturday at the Worcester Palladium for the Red Cross. We opened with a new tune titled 'A Fire In Babylon' that we had never played and that I had never even sang before. It was killer. The tune is a total thrash fest!!!! Lots of killer lead lines and even an acoustic break. We have written a total of about six tunes. Three are totally down with lyrics and vocals. The others need a little fine-tuning and some words. So the tunes done are 'Stepping Outside The Circle', 'Mystery of One Spirit' and 'A Fire In Babylon'. The tentative title and cover concept that I have been throwing around is The Art Of Balance, but I haven't even ran it by the boys yet. So it could change a million times. That is about it. We are just trying to create the most amazing metal album that we are capable of." Don't bother rubbing your eyes. Yes, MTV's Iann Robinson was wearing a Shadows Fall shirt while delivering the news on Monday. Go MTV! Shadows Fall will be featured on an upcoming compilation called Break Point on Cho'sin Records. As previously mentioned, Shadows Fall's "Of One Blood" is featured on the soundtrack to the film Gingersnaps (on Roadrunner Records). If you're interested, the soundtrack can be purchased at Amazon.com (no, Century Media doesn't make any money for directing people there, it's just the only place of which I'm aware that sells it). Shadows Fall's official Web site, www.shadowsfall.com, is under construction and will be fully functional soon.
