It's a very good album yet the surprise is in the type of material.....better vocal melodies yet a very different and softer sound.
- Heart Of Sun - Heart Of Sun
Great progressive rock/metal that captures the imagination

Not a bad album by any means but where's the energy?

Stale, uninspired and terrible vocals by a previously good singer

Marty's words about 2007 |
- Well once again, there's simply not enough time to listen to everything so there are a few releases that likely would've made my best of list if I had given them some serious listens. 2007 was another great year for metal and the big highlight for me was the Heaven and Hell Tour with the Dio-era Sabbath line-up. 2008 is already shaping up to be another solid year with some very high profile releases coming out already. The biggest events are going to be the new Judas Priest epic and the new Metallica (if it even comes out this year)....as far as Chinese Democracy, I've given it so many Joke Of The Year awards that I'm going to retire it for good. I doubt it will ever see the light of day. It's also great that Rush is extending it's Snakes And Arrows tour to include South America once again as well as many other North American cities that they haven't played in a while.
I would like to extend sincere thanks to all the labels, bands and PR people that are so helpful in supporting MetalReviews.com. Last but certainly not the least, thanks to the loyal readers and dedicated forumites...you are all part of this crazy and fun metal "community" that is unlike any other on the net...I continue to stand by that claim.
Cheers and have a great (and heavy) 2008
Marty
