The style name "hardcore" makes me running in the opposite direction. I don't like this kind of metal, but on the other hand, I like some groovy punk bands. But as for "heavy metal", punk is today an "unholy" word to use in marketing, "punk" is not a fashion word anymore, where "hardcore" is totally in contrast with our time. And as you know, labels like to use "fashionable" word to describe the music.
This album is really cool and Shelter's style is called "melodic hardcore". Eh my friends, if this is hardcore, I must haven't done a big mistake those years ... or this is another way to present "melodic punk". A "small" slap in my face to be honest, but a big "marketing" music lesson : After "re-baptizing" heavy metal as true metal, punk today has been re-baptized hardcore. At least, I have learn something.
Anyway. Very groovy, fast and always melodic songs. The kind of music you put in your sofa and you start to jump in all directions. Musically it's cool and fresh. No weak songs, but somehow this feeling they have always the same kind of tempo, the same groove and riffs. Typical album for punk fans .... euuuh sorry hardcore fan.
