Surprise of the month

Fans of NWOBHM stand up now !!!

Wytchfynde, with their black metal logo, plays in fact an excellent heavy metal coming straight away from the 80's. The production could have been without any doubt much better, but who gives a shit when the song-writing and the vocalist are so good.

Hell Hath No Fury or Blessed Be reminds me the best songs of Dio, while Death Of Innocence has a Black Sabbath touch. If you grew up (like me) in the 80's and appreciate bands like Saxon, Dio, King Diamond without forgetting Blitzkrieg, The Awakening is an album you should buy as soon as possible.

The overall structure of the album reminds me Dio's Holy Diver, but there is absolutely no copy cat here. Last but not least, the vocalist sings like Dee Snider (at least on Vampyre's Tale and on Ghost Dancer) and this is adding even more this 80's feeling. Thank you very much Luther (vocalist of the band) for sending and signing me this jewel.

Major labels don't miss this band. Long live Wytchfynde !!!
