Farmer Boys? When I first saw that CD at the record shop with its very "unmetallish" cover-art I thought that it was going to be some crap. But I listened to it, the first few second of intro only confirmed my idea and then... BLAM! I'm hit in the face by the first notes of guitar.

At the end of the first song (Here Comes The Pain) I was convinced that it was a very good album. Now here is the difficult part: describing their style. The band, from Germany by the way, describes it as "New Metal". I've to agree that it's something new that won't help me to explain it. Influences are: power-metal, US rock/neo-metal, a touch of progressive and there are some electronic elements too. You'll have to listen to it to get the idea of how all this is combined to get "New Metal". The production is a dream, I just love the sound of the guitars (what should I buy to make mine sound the same? :). The singer is very talented and has a very good voice, just a little hoarse not too much (the lyrics are rather dark and gloomy). The result is powerful and melodic at the same time, but not too agressive.

Congratulation, Boys. This album is a must. It's really different from the usual metal releases so I suggest that you run at once to your favorite-good-cds-reseller and listen to it, then I'm sure there is no way you're gonna leave the shop without it.
