Surprise of the month

I didn't know this band before and let me tell you that I am really impressed with this one. Moon'Doc, the band built around former Sinner / Accept and Victory guitarist Hermann Frank, have attractive melodies, underpinned by the guitar parts being livened up by varied and interesting arrangements and this is they third album (new line-up for this one). Melodic Hard Rock at its best !

The opener Welcome To The Show is a tight metal song overflowing with melody and sharp hook lines, echoing the album's themes. Welcome to Accept's guitar riffs and welcome also to your .... poor neck. Second song Cry To The Moon is a pure moment of pleasure, a typical hard rock mid-tempo song of the 80's (voice on that one reminds me Whitesnake). Sun King (third song) is an invitation to arabesque tempo, a wonderful song with a killing chorus and Hermann's guitar is unbelievable on this song, melodic and mystical. Iron Tears (5th song) is much more speedy, much more heavy metal oriented, a mega fist in your face and again "guaranteed" pain for your ... poor neck. Just wonderful.

Real Of Legends
contains ten more than impressive pieces - simply crying out to be rendered live and kicking. A tour is on the cards for Spring 2000, so all melodic hard rock fans should be keep their eyes open to check out when and where this band will be doing live showcases.
