Media's and fan's controversy from all around the world pushed us to review this S & M. For a decade now, Metallica has astonished everybody (including their own fans) album after album. From "Black Album" (the famous commercial one ?!? I didn't know that metal could be commercial, even with Metalllica's name on the art cover) to "Reload", Metallica is one of the few bands (who said only ?) that does what they want to do. No pressure from label, no boundaries with their fans (which ones? first years or news ones). So we called them betrayal, untruly, commercial,.... !!! If metal isn't dead in USA (we mean totally), we can thank METALLICA. If metal seems to be recognized again and seems to reborn like the phoenix, I hope we will not forget to thank Metallica. This album proves to the rest of the world (radios, MTV, unopened minds) that METAL can be combined with classical music. What a "slap" in the face of MTV.
This music channel (who has excluded metal for too long) "intoxicated" us with their "unplugged-rock" shows (are you kidding ???).... and Metallica blows away MTV's boundaries, proving again that ONLY a Metal Band can create such show (and music). This is a live album and we don't quote "lives", but this album is the Answer to all those guys that insult us for decades : "Metal is "noisy".... Metal is "shity".....You shouldn't listen to this "unholy" music ?".
Yeah sure...Well, this is the kind of noise I like. At least, it is 100 times less noisy for my ears than those "holy" MTV programs.
