well, my club is sort of a big fish in a small pond so i'm happy. i can can see why fans of certain clubs would be happy to get this kind of investment. _________________

They unveiled our new kit today. It's supposed to be a reference to the kit worn in the first decades of the club's history, gold and black hoops. Instead, it's a yellow and black abomination that looks like Livingston.
I'll probably end up buying it anyway :S |

| Just saw that Bangor City lost in its Europa league qualifier. The Welsh league teams always get trounced. I hope one of them make it through. It's such a tiny league, that would be a major accomplishment. Maybe if they do well enough Cardiff and Swansea will want to play in their own domestic league instead of the EPL. |

Carlo Ancelotti (PSG coach, bitches) said today odds are good to see Ibra AND Thiago Silva soon in Paris. Meanwhile, Milan AC stopped printing their names on jerseys yesterday.
BAZINGA.
edit: I almost feel like Fridge when he cheats playing FM. Only for real. Ha! To be rich... |

Ooooh, Looks like Ibra gets another shot at fighting with his manager. I wonder how long ANcelloti will tolerate him before he benches him. |

If it's more than two months, it'll be enough to win the Ligue 1. If it's less, maybe we'll have to sweat a little. Maybe. |

| Rangers relegated to third division. Funny that all of Ranger's enemies voted on "what was best for the sport." I'm not privy to a lot of the background of this story, but from my position it seems like the voters saw this as an opportunity to eliminate the top dog for many many years. |

| Meanwhile, Thiago Silva signed a 5-year contrat to Paris. We are now waiting for Ibrahimovic, Messi, and Beckenbauer's clone (yes, the Qatari have the required technology). |

| It seems Ibrahimovic will come only if Kaka does too. Fuck them. I want Falcao and Luka Modric. |

they would indeed be much smarter acquisitions.
Ibra wants to win the CL, but PSG aren't any more likely to do it than Milan.
i can imagine the negotiation process, with Ibra waiting on Kaka and Kaka waiting on Ibra and then they finally figure out what's going on and agree to sign the contract at the same time _________________

Ibra officially signed to a three-year contrat. Worth a shitload of money I don't even want to think about.
The Italian youngster Marco Verratti is close to signing too. So for now, that's Thiago Silva, Lavezzi, Ibra, and probably Verratti. Overkill for the Ligue 1, not enough for the CL. |

goal.com puts his wages at €13M/year. hot damn.
indeed. they are the clear favourites to take Ligue 1, which only means it'll be more hilarious if they somehow don't.
Serie A really is in the toilet, though. _________________

| Well, I suppose it's a good thing he didn't wait on Kaka. I don't know what happened to him, but he's a shadow of his former self. I never thought he was all that good, but I thought he would have had a greater impact at Real than he did. I know Mou is lookin to ship him out to make room for Modric. |

Anyone going to follow the Olympic football tourney? I typically over the years haven't had much interest in it, but given how, at least for Spain, the next World Cup will feature quite a few of the olympic players, I have a renewed interest.
Also intrigued to see what Brazil will look like as I think this is a testing ground for their future WC teams. |

European teams will underperform at the Olympics because no one gives a shit about it and they just had the Euros. Brazil and Argentina will show up in full throttle and kill everyone.
EDIT: Also, on August 14th, I'm going to Pittodrie to watch Manchester United play Aberdeen in a benefit game for Neil Simpson, club legend who lifted the Cup-Winner's Cup and Super Cup for us in the 80s. 8 pounds for a student ticket, booyah! |

I think i'll have more interest in ladies football than men. Football just doesn't feel like an olympic sport to me. Besides, it's pre-season, the most boring part of the season, quality-wise.
As for Kaka, he has groin disruption (pubalgia), or more like the results of. He never recovered. AC Milan very well knew this when they sold him to Real Madrid (65 million euros IIRC), which was easily the rip off of the decade. He's lost for world-class football. He should go back to Brazil, he would be a hero there. |

Why do you say that?, Spain is sending their under 21 team with three young members of the senior team. These players are highly motivated win another title. Almost all of them had nothing to do with the senior team so its tough to imagine the will be tired or that hey will not be motivated to win. In fact I think your ommen is way off base. None of the European teams will be affected by the euro cup because on he whole they are all the u21 teams who have developed pretty intense rivalries. Spain and Switzerland for sure seeing as how they disputed the u21 final. |

the Olympics should be good fun. i'm excited to see the Brazilian olympic squad. the attack alone should be worth a ticket - Oscar, Lucas, Ganso, Neymar, Damião and Hulk, plus Danilo in defence.
i very much enjoyed Lavezzi and Di Maria's displays in Beijing. _________________
