I was just wondering which Death metal bands you love that fly under most people's radar.

Mine are Liers in Wait and Master.

Gorezone comes to mind, coming from someone who doesn't delve too deeply into underground death metal.

Exhumed: for Carcass worship, it's pretty damn good.

Definitely Master, they're great.
There's a lot of underrated death metal to be honest: Blood Freak, Dead Congregation, Degrade, Intestine Baalism, NOX, Teitanblood (although they are more than just death metal), Unanimated.
Those are the ones I can think of for now.

I wouldn't call Master underrated... The people who know that band, love it. It's just not that well-known.

I would like to draw more attention to MyndSnare, the very first thing I reviewed for this site. Really, really good progressive death metal band in the vein of Death from the early 90s, from Bangalore, India.

http://www.myspace.com/myndsnare

Other DM bands I think are great that don't get much attention:

Azarath - Extremely brutal Polish death metal, Diabolic Impious Evil is one of the best death metal albums of the last decade, I reckon.

http://www.myspace.com/azarath666

Lost Soul - Another underrated Polish band, like a combination of Decapitated's heavy grooves and some flashier, more melodic elements.

http://www.myspace.com/lostsoulofficial

Centaurus-A - Good tech death

http://www.myspace.com/centaurusa

Hacride - Prog death recommended for Opeth and Meshuggah fans

http://www.myspace.com/hacridev2

Excoriate - Retro blackened death

http://www.myspace.com/excoriatedeathmetal

Gigan and Ulcerate- Both play great avant-garde techy psychedelic death metal

to Rio for mentioning MyndSnare. Another band that I think is often overlooked/ underrated is Sinister. I don't feel Immolation have still got the recognition they deserve. If this thread includes bands that have split, I would say Broken Hope too. They have been considered CC clones, but so what? They still kicked major ass.

I`d say they borderline both. I have them tagged as Death/Thrash Metal on my computer, I'm pretty sure that fits.

and yes, HELL YEAH

Sadist (from Italy).
I don't know their early albums but just for the s/t (2007) and Season in Silence (2010) they should be rewarded with greater success. Awesome prog death!

Strongly echoing Rio's 'Lost Soul' mention.
