Ha, I was gonna say... Oh well, don't matter since the Habs will have won tommorow night. If I spot you on TV among the suits at the ACC I'll say hi. |

I was obsessed with it from about 8-13 and did some backyard wrestling, took chair shots, did the dangerous spots. Unfortunately my height never got over 5'6'' and eventually Vince McMahon would monopolize the industry and I lost interest. |

Except, professional wrestling is not a sport. |

I can't really be the only one who wants to see an eight-year old Adveser doing dangerous shots of chairs? Guys? Guys? _________________ |

| Neither is the ballet, but they are both athletic and that fact is besides the point of their existence. At least wrestling doesn't hold some sort of illusion that it is an athletic contest to determine the greatest fighter around, when anyone could set up such a scenario using their own disciplines when in fact none of these people are any more dangerous than is normal when there are no rules. |

Riiiight... because the NFL is so cerebral and sophisticated. |
From a tactical point of view, it kind of is... A lot more than UFC anyway... |
"UFC" isn't a sport, sport.
Throw the ball, catch it and run... yep.
Deep stuff, right there.
Truth is, football has more than it's share of meatheads amongst it's ranks of fans.
Way to miss the point. |
You obviously don't understand football if you think its as simple as throwing the ball down the field and running. |
I understand it puts me to sleep.
Break it down for me, then.
Show me how it is this high toned strategic event that takes a lot of brains. |
Dude, stop. Someone's going to come along--or maybe already has--and school you. Football is extremely strategic. I'm no expert, so I can't explain it. But I know trying to decipher all that they do make my head hurt.
As for this new album--it's good. Not great, but very good. And yeah, some of the lyrics are fucking atrocious. |
First and foremost, I have already stopped. I lost interest in this thread a week ago.
Second, whatever. I give less than half a scurvy rat's ass about football.
The point, for the third (or is it the fourth?) time is THIS:
NASCAR takes a bit of skill itself; as does MMA. The OP had stereotyped those two sports and their fanbase, or so I seemingly misconstrued it, as unrefined and simple. He stated that his words had a different intent, and I take his word for it. Now here's where it gets tricky, so pay attention. I sarcastically stated what I stated above to illuminate that it is just as easy to stereotype a certain other sport and its fans and that I found his doing so (at the time) ironic. |

I find that when one says things like the above, it really speaks more to where their mind is at than anything else.
When I watch MMA I see a contest for domination and superior fighting skills, you see two guys embracing. Figures.
Not surprised in the least that you see it that way, though. |

Perfect example of the idiotic juvenilia that frequently passes for commentary around here.
Thanks for reminding me of why I seldom bother with this place anymore. |

Bah, they are just trying to get a reaction.
I really wouldn't give a flying fuck what Noodles or Stefan would think about MMA, and, respectfully, I also don't care what you think about football. |
