How exactly did it work out that Timo's new band is not called strato and this band is not called Kotipelto?

I don't know the particulars. Enlighten me.

Its starts with the fact that Tolkki is a loony bird.

Because then Timo couldn't make inflammatory statements about how Stratovarious is ruining his legacy.

He sold the rights to Strato to Kotipleto and Jens so they have the right to call themselves Stratovarius.

And to the new album. I liked Polaris and thought it was a good return to form.

Anyway, cute song, but I won't remember it once it's finished. The solos were sweet, though.

The album has leaked. After a spin it is definitely the best strato-album since Destiny. Major improvement over Polaris.

The title track is 18 minutes of pure perfection.

Now that's a big statement, because Polaris was a massive return to form for them in my opinion.

Do want.

Wait 'till you hear this one. Never thought I'd hear a strato-album this good after Tolkki's departure.

Actually, I did listen to it (god help me but I will definitely purchase it) .. and I wouldn't call it a 'major improvement'.

I'd say it's in the same ballpark, with more of the classic Stratovarius sound thrown in, but less creative riffing.

Elysium is a nice epic song and Move the Mountain is a better ballad than When Mountains Fall.

Tough call, but I'd probably score it the same or a bit lower.

Elysium is a nice epic song however and probably makes the album. Move the Mountain is also a better ballad than When Mountains Fall.

I found Polaris a bit bland and boring, so for me at least it's a major improvement. And I agree with you on the ballad thing.
