Great early metal classic which holds up with In Rock and Sabbath's first. Also check out Look at Yourself, Demons and Wizards and The Magician's Birthday, all mandatory listening for anyone into early metal. Very underrated band that deserves more recognition.

Aside from "Easy Livin'', I never really heard any of their other stuff. The other day I started checking out some song samples from the Demons and Wizards album. I liked what I heard! I never really knew how much they sounded like a cross between Cream and Deep Purple. So far I have tracked down some of the earlier releases and had a chance to listen to Demons and Wizards from start to finish. Love it! I am on a Uriah Heep kick! Any other recommendations?

Well if you liked Demons And Wizards, The Magicians Birthday is a no brainer, in fact i would recomend you to listen to the whole David Byron era, after that Firefly is my favourite album with John Lawton.

Oh and also their last album Wake The Sleeper is quite excellent.

I concur. I had a chance to listen to all of the albums up to Firefly, then skipped to Abominog and the Wake The Sleeper. Wake The Sleeper is very good. Sweet Freedom has some strong tracks. But Demons and Wizards is still their best!

Wake the Sleeper was a huge surprise! The best UH album since... forever*!
Other than that, I'm all for Salisbury if only for its exquisite title track!

* David Byron era
