Yep, read whole things. Horrible - but believable that he didn't know about them, and signing something without reading it is less of a crime than starting wars in which hundreds of thousands die. And of course, *even if* he once was a racist, he clearly isn't now - Republicans deserve a second chance as much as anyone. As I said above, it's the least bad of a bad lineup... Santorum, for example, has himself said that gay sex is bestiality and abortion should not be allowed even in rape/incest situations, and continues to state similar things.

If that's the best you can muster given his political positions compared to the rest of the GOP goons, then that truly is something pitiful to behold. You can call him crazy all you want but at least his system of doing things is isn't about to collapse like the EU. |

He's less insane than the rest of the GOP, no doubt, but that doesn't make him sane regardless. His policies would ruin the US and have a terrible impact on the world. Furthermore, the reason the EU is having problems is because of Chicago school economical neoliberalism, the swordsong of the Republicans. |

I like how Fridge thinks only Republicans indulge in non-leftist economics - would you be ok with the Austrian school? ;) And the EU is hardly in trouble because of Chicago-school economics...
Ultimately, if Ron Paul is less willing to bomb random brown people than any other candidate, then that makes him less of a racist, no?

It's neoliberalism that is to blame. Any proclaimed leftist who engages in neoliberal economics is no leftist at all. As far as I'm aware, anyway, the Austrian school is the spiritual predecessor to the Chicago school. |
