I would think by now, after saying it a million times—or, rather, a few times in this thread alone (since we need to be very specific here)—that it was said in jest, in a joking manner, that I shouldn't STILL be justifying it. Thus I made no ill-informed statement because it was nary a statement at all. |

"Jokes" are often thinly veiled statements, every thinking person understands that old altruism.

Are you a complete dolt? Are you paying attention here? Or are you just continuously ignoring things to start a flame war? There is no thinly veiled statement here. Haven't I also explained this? Yes, I believe I have, you apparently missed it. I do NOT like black metal for the most part, at least what I have heard, but I know very little about the genre nor have I given many bands a listen. Thus my statement may reflect my true feelings on what I have heard, it in no way reflects an overall opinion on the genre as a whole. Why? BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE AN OPINION ON THE GENRE AS A WHOLE!! Therefore my statement of "black metal sucks" bears no more significance than a post by stub. It is not a joke, but said in a joking manner. There IS a difference, it's a fairly simple concept. You can type, so you should have the mental capacity to understand that.
How is that? Read it a few times if you don't get it the first time, read it out loud or write it out to make it sink in, but please make it sink in because your continuous spinning is becoming annoying, and your intentions are obvious.

I'm glad you like black metal, when you see me really giving an opinion on the subject that chime in, otherwise beat it. There's only so many ways I can say the same thing, if you choose to not understand it then that is your problem, not mine.
And for the record, I will champion any band on this board that I like, just like you're trying to be the hero of black metal. |

I will not "beat it"... I have been civil throughout our discourse; and the only time I ever said a band sucks (that can I honestly recall) is System of a Down.

See this? This is what I'm talking about, you're position on this argument only makes sense if I were serious in my claim that black metal sucks when I said it. Do you get that? I said it in jest, there was ZERO credibility behind it ever! I shouldn't even be defending the fucking comment. Why won't you just let it go? Considering I've explained myself about 50 times now.

Evanescence sucks because the only good song is the ballad (my immortal), thus Evansescence are just like so many 80's hair metal bands, good production, 1 or 2 singles and just the right sound to be on MTV... which makes of Evanescence the hair metal for the 21rst century...

| V needs to get a sense of humor (immaturity is very funny to me). Evanescence has a crappy chick singer. Most bands with chick singers - Nightwish, Epica, After Forever - do indeed suck at life. |

I didn't say that at all. People can misunderstand me, sure. That's fine, but after I explain myself should I continuously have to do so? How many times do I have to say something before it's acknowledged? I have no problems with someone taking exceptions to something I say, but if I offer an explanation I expect them to listen to it and not reply like I didn't even say it.
And are you seriously saying that when I said "prick" and "homo" it didn't seem like a joke? Should I now NEVER joke around here? This recent bullshit is making me realize why 90% of the reviewers on this site don't bother with the messageboard. |

I/m not trying to flame you, but you do not exist in a vacuum:
it's a cause and effect thing, only on an internet forum it is more accurately a comment and response thing.
Seems like the "its just a joke" explanation is a built in cop-out that allows a person to talk shit and get away with it...
I mean come on; calling others pricks, homos, saying this sucks, you suck etc., than saying it's just a joke is dubious.
You can;t see that?
How many arguments do you find yourself in here?

As for the comment as to seeing why the reviewers refrain from posting in the forums... that's just lovely. |

But a comment like when I called NESS a prick must be taken in context. It wasn't said in the same manner as when I was called a prick, you know? I don't want to argue with anyone, just for the record. Nor do I want to dance. |

I am not making blanket statements, am I? I was not the person to call someone a prick, initially, and when I did I said it to NESS. The cause and effect will clearly be understood by him, there is no need for someone like you to make a comment on it because it wasn't directed at you. Especially when you're going to take it the wrong way, and then not even listen to any explanation except the one in your head.
There is a context in which everything is said here and you can call it a built-in cop out all you want, it's not. Not only that, you're once again talking about something I explained 47 replies ago and that was the first time. Does anything sink in with you? Is this why you were banned the first time? I don't get it. You shouldn't be involved in the cause and effect of something that wasn't directed at you. Maybe one so dark and evil as you can't understand the concept of fucking around, but frankly I'm sick of explaining myself to someone who doesn't listen. If I wanted to do that I'd just talk to my cubicle here at work.
And I don't find myself in many arguments here, just with you and Arthur recently, and emperor for calling me a prick for no reason. |
