It really does pwn Lacuna Coil out of all recognition.

They've never even sounded the same, I've always found it odd that they're compared so much. |

They've never even sounded the same, I've always found it odd that they're compared so much. |
It's a rule that every female fronted band, no matter how different will be lumped together. And the majority will only care about half of these bands because of the said females's hotness. Except for The Gathering, who has a hot female and makes good music. Too bad Lacuna Coil and Arch Enemy can't say the same. |

If The Gathering have a hit single off their new album, like Lacuna did with Comalies, I expect to read dumb comments like this about The Gathering, too.
Before Comalies, no one talked shit about Lacuna Coil. Give them an ounce of success and people talk trash. It's all rather lame if you ask me. |

If The Gathering have a hit single off their new album, like Lacuna did with Comalies, I expect to read dumb comments like this about The Gathering, too.

I didn't say it was my opinion, but it is the opinion of a lot of people. I happen to like The Gathering, but 9 times out of 10 the only reason people know them is because Annika is hot. |

Why is it that if someone criticises a popular band you assume they're doing it because they're popular? As a matter of fact I like Lacuna Coil, but compared to the Gathering (shock horror I'm making a lazy comparison :shock: ) they sound pretty one-dimensional, wouldn't you say? |

Well...I still think neither should be compared, and being a fan since Lacuna's first EP I am well aware of what is said about them. Like most metal bands that acheive asmall level of success they're instantly shunned by metal "fans" around the world.
It's weird, rap fans eat up any sort of rap that becomes popular, then later simply forget about them. If a group goes underground after with no big hits, the fans could care less about the group. Metal fans will love a band to no end while it's underground, but the second they get popular, they write them off. It's very strange. |
