we faced Villareal in the group phase, they're a good team but the easiest you could hope to face in this phase, after Benfica.
the Argentinean players they have (like Riquelme) are a constant threat. |

| There was no easy game for us at this stage unfortunately, we've been just terrible this season, the worst Rangers team I've ever seen. That it makes it doubly surprising that we've never been this far in the Champions League before. :? |

Yep, two squads of massive underacheivers with leaky defences go head to head...
...well, it promises goals. |

Which is more than Rangers promise...
I'm rather out of the loop on football recently. Rather worrying... _________________ |

honestly, i don't think Rangers deserved to get past the group phase. FC Porto played much better but were unlucky when they got a chance to score.
and i'm not just saying this because i'm portuguese (although i do want to see portuguese teams go as far as they can in international competitions). |

Yeah, but that's the name of the game (as the saying goes). To be honest I can't believe we took a point from Porto at Ibrox never mind actually beating them. Our defence was (and is) and utter shambles.
The game in Portugal was a different story - we performed a classic smash and grab on them to get home with a point. They were all over us but we limited them to very few goalscoring opportunities and then snatched a goal when we got our chance.
If we'd won the two games that we drew with Artmedia Bratislava (which we should have done comfortably, only to be let down by our strikers in the home game and our defenders away) this would all be a moot point anyway. |

Didn't watch it, by the time I got home from work and ate my dinner it was half time. After that I couldn't be bothered, just settled in for a couple of hours reading/listening (something I can't remember and then Kamelot, since you asked). |
