Now I am off to listen to the other two. (I know, I'm a noob.)

I think Blazon Stone is the best Running Wild album.

Grave Digger

+unique vocals
+nice variation
+good concept albums
+some amazing riffs
+great name
-vocals/accent
-weak lyrics

Running Wild

+Pirate theme and other cool historical themes
+consistancy
+lots of excellent bonus tracks
+signiture guitar/drum sound and echoed vocals
-not enough variation; afraid to try different things
-drum machine on some newer albums?
-got rid of all excellent musicians that were in the band

Rage

+Orchestra
+Songwriting
-boring Lyrics
-many boring songs

for starters, try Unity (2002) then pretty much every album starting from 1990's Reflections Of A Shadow has its moments... I feel the older albums to be a tad too average to enlighten a modern metalhead's day...

Wow, Soundchaser sure does kickass. If their whole catalogue is this good, then my list will go like this.

1. Grave Digger
2. Rage
3. Running Wild

Its hard for me to pick any of these bands as being the best because they're all so goddamn inconsistent. I can pick individual albums...in which case I'd go with

Rage - Reign of Fear

Running Wild - Gates to Purgatory.

For even older album, try Perfect Man - it's better than Reflections.Skip Secrets In A Weird World and go for all that follows. It's true that some of their 90's albums are inconsistent, but i like them all.Weird that i've never even heard their first 2 albums before Perfect Man.I have a feeling that they will suck. But seeing as how Holy_Terror thinks Reign Of Fear as Rage's best album, i think i'll reconsider.

Its their thrashiest by far...and I like just about every song on it....can't say that about any other of their albums.

And these are the only Running WIld albums I like

Gates to Purgatory
Branded for Exile
Death or Glory
Black Hand Inn

The rest are extremely boring and full of fillers.

Grave Digger is not good in my opinion. Extremely boring.

Under Jolly Roger kind of bores me....and I don't own Pile of Skulls, and the songs I have from it arent that good.

If i had to pick one of them.....i couldnt because PRIMAL FEAR beats them all hands down
How could you leave out Primal Fear, Edguy, Blind Guardian, Gamma Ray & Iron Savior? All those bands are better than Rage, Grave Digger & Running Wild.

After PF, Edguy, IS, GM & BG.......a big gap, then Grave Digger, Rage then Running Wild.
Grave Digger are better because they are unique, very different compared to the rest. Wicked, deep vocals which makes the songs that much better.
From what i've heard from Rage, i consider them to be overrated. Soundchaser didnt impress me very much at all. Yeah, its good, but on the average side of good. I'd agree that they do have boring songs & weird structures. Guitars are your typical shreaders, but overall, they could be better.

The first post states that Blind Guardian and Gamma Ray (and I'm guessing Edguy as well) have been left out due to their popularity. This was more of a second tier poll, I think.

Yeah, but more popular doesn't mean better. Edguy is nothing compared to these 3. Actually to me of those bands he mentioned only Blind Guardian is better than these 3, others are either worse or on about same level.

Agreed. I meant second tier of popularity. However, I can't agree that Edguy is nothing compared to these three.
